USB SSD 500 Mbs fast enough?

Anyone experience with SSD USB in terms of streaming speed access, say I want to import a little Ableton Set in conjunction with clips originally made with my MPC One +, For a start I got an SD 128 GB in the front BUT I fear that is not so fast and maybe good only for storage of my purchased plugins.

MPC Tutor tested it and found that USB sticks were actually faster than SD cards.

Yes, I tested a bunch of busy MIDI performances on 'gen 1' hardware (keygroups lots of notes, sustain messages etc) and every single one dropped notes in the exact same places, irrespective of the disk being streamed from. Only 'ram' played everything back correctly. But for streaming audio tracks you should be fine with any type of disk, I was really pushing it beyond the intended use.

These were MPC2 tests on gen1 machines. Might be improved on the Live 3. Might also be better on MPC3 generally.
