I watched a few. The "AKAI MPC LIVE III Video 21 - Odds & Ends" also mentions locators - specifically setting and moving to them using the pads. Seeing two times six pads lit and two times two unlit made me wonder: why six locators instead of eight ? With eight, at least the limit makes some sense by matching some physical limit. But maybe six is explained by being the maximum number of screen bottom line buttons ?

8 would be better & they could put arrows or whatever to move thru higher numbers of locators.
