How can I "process" a clip in CLIP MATRIX mode?

To be clear I am talking about an AUDIO CLIP.

While I was able to process the clip by selecting it and getting it into Clip Edit mode and then clicking on Sample Edit, once I was done (fade and reverse, for example), I couldn't figure out how to get that edited sample back into the clip from which it originated. Any clues?

Most of the actions you run from the Process menu in Sample Edit are destructive, so Undo is basically the only way to revert them. If you want a safety net, it helps to run Process > Copy beforehand to keep a backup.

Yeah that wasn't quite what I meant. If you select "Clip Editor", then "Grid" you can find a screen where you can reverse the clip. However this screen does not have the "Process" options that are in the Sample Editor. If you press "Sample Edit" with the audio clip selected then the clip will be copied into the Sample Editor and you can do lots of different things including fading etc. but the original clip is not changed.

I spent more time and you can assign the edited sample to a pad, but I don't see any obvious way to update the original clip, which is a shame as those audio clips are just as likely to need a quick fade on the beginning to avoid a pop as any other context.

Any ideas?

Okay, I'm not even drunk or anything but I was totally wrong. Using "Sample Edit" on clips does edit the sample in place. There are perhaps some finer points of clips and samples etc. that still elude me but I am getting there slowly.
