I was looking forward to Clip array, being used to Ableton Live, but so far have had some frustrations. I'm sure there's some reason behind all of it, but having a hard time just figuring it out.

a) When I try to record a new audio clip, I'm getting a message "Audio recording stopped due to tempo change" or something like that. In this case I just have one other MIDI (plugin/drum) clip in the track and am not trying to do anything with the tempo.

b) One audio clip seems to change its length every other time it loops.

c) Clips seem to change their tempo after playing through once.

d) Although you can give each scene its own tempo (apparently), when you are playing back, the tempo indicator at upper right just stays one one setting.

e) I had a recorded MIDI (Drum) track simply refuse to play back even though the notes are obviously there and the MIDI controller continues to work fine. I created a new identical track and that one worked, but at this point I'm starting to wonder if the whole clip array feature is just really buggy, which wouldn't surprise me.

I'm about at the point of abandoning Clip Array and going back to Sequence mode although this means I need to save sequences with the beginning track mute state and then unmute them as time goes on.

For reference, the way I would use Clip Array would be to launch clips within a specific scene. I like the launch quantization feature, so it comes in at a good point rather than "immediately" supposing you were unmuting a track in the track mixer using Sequence mode. I'm less likely to want to mix and match clips on different rows even though this is possible.

Any thoughts, perspectives? Am I missing something (seems likely)?

Okay, I did do that. I am using a Beatstep Pro in some cases to develop patterns for playback/recording on the MPC, but only "Control" and "Sync" are enabled. In the case where I want the BSP to sync with the BSP, then I turn off "Sync" in MPC's MIDI In settings for the BSP and set BSP sync to "USB".

Okay I made some progress and I apologize for being an idiot. It simply takes me a long time to learn something as complicated as the MPC. I get almost nothing out of sitting down and reading 40 pages of the manual or watching an hour long video.

Turns out that ONCE AGAIN I managed to get some tempo events recorded that were causing some of the scenes to alternate between two tempos. I finally went into the list edit to find them and remove them.

I cleaned up quite a bit of my Clip Matrix project and figured out how to launch either individual clips one at a time or a whole row.

This video is one the best on the the clip matrix, plus the rest of his Live 3 series is helpful for all MPC & even the Force users.

Thank you, I have watched that one a couple times. I'm slowly getting the hang of it.
