Why the poly/six? It's only one oscillator plus sub, making it Juno Like, which we have. And it only has one envelope generator, basic architecture.

I hove the mono/poly (Behringer) which I love, and has 4 oscillators, cross mod, and 2 EGs. How about a Mono/poly6 (or 12) . The architecture and fun of the mono/poly, plus the option of true 6 (or 12) voice polyphony of the poly 6. And add detonable oscillators up to 12 semitones (Mono/poly just does octaves), to spice up the original.

I have the micro freak too, a lot is taken from Mutable Instruments Plaits, that's open source code, so the could make their own original synth based off that and add some other goodies to make it something new. But enough of that, before B-Wise tells me off for being off topic.

Some showed a pic of some of the new plugins for the Akai Mini or whatever & they the Prophet as coming soon & another Moog (I don't remember which model), so hopefully they come as standalone plugs. The Jupiter would be nice, but we already have 2 from Roland, let's get some new old stuff like the MS20 or even let us add more sample to Mellotron. I was watching some doc & they showing like these custom samples people were adding to it back in day, I would love to add my own or buy a upgrade from Akai.

Sorry I missed your reply before, and just saw it.

I don't mind more from Roland, if it offers something really tasty and different, which is why I'm a little indifferent to the SH101 clone. There are lots of posts for polys and the Jupiter gives both that and the ability to be a great mono too. A Roland SH-05 would be a great mono to add, as that's can be gritty and brutal like the MS20 (which I'd also love to see), both are dual VCO and Filter, but the SH-05 also has ring mod. I'm really not too fussed about what manufacturer they add, but I crave something that can get a bit nasty when pushed. As Moog is now part of the team, maybe we'll see more Moog, but to be honest Moogs don't interest me so much, but I do think they suit the Old School Hip/Hop and RnB heads, which the MPC traditionally leans towards. If a prophet comes, that would be cool, but it's architecture is pretty basic, which is why I'd hope for a Jupiter instead, which can do a prophet sound for those interested (Or me if I'd want to cover Everything in it's right place)

OK, that makes sense & I wouldn't mind more from Roland, but we just the Iona & there so many other synths to emulate. They at least have an Jupiter & a prohet coming to desktop so we should be getting a those at some time.

I hate to be that dude, but I know how messy a thread like this can be if left without order, so if anyone has suggestions for modern synths, please post it in the Modern Synth thread in the link:

I think Akai/inMusic working NI is just the start of them working other companies, hopefully that will include small independent teams as well. The improvements to their synths engine also means that their sample expansion will more powerful even for gen1 units & even extra insane for gen2. Akai is gonna be real difficult to compete with for next decade. I wonder how long they'll keep super gen1, but now I'm going ot, you see how easy that is...bye
