Hello, I'm trying to assign 4 samples to the left of the pad and 4 samples to the right. My dream is to play the four samples randomly on each side.
These are 4 different articulations but at the same volume from the same sample.
By doing this, I avoid using 2 pads and can therefore insert all my samples into one bank, i.e. 16 pads.

I first tried with mods B (with 8 samples), but mode B adds the samples at each corner (e.g. 1+5 for the bottom left corner), so it doesn't work. Unless you can alternate the samples in each corner, but I haven't figured out how to do that.
Then I tried mode C. But regardless of the crossfade setting (linear, sine, double sine, etc.), the samples still overlap because they are too close together.
So I'm going to try mode A with 4 samples, thinking that I'll group the pad with another pad to have 2 sets of 2 samples on each side, in random order. (Layer 1 and 4 for the left and layer 2 and 3 for the right).
In mode A, it's easier to play on the corners and therefore trigger only the sample in the corner of the pad, with the linear crossfade. For example, I'll play randomly on the top or bottom left, and that will trigger the pad in the next bank to which it is linked, at random.

Do you think this is possible, or do you have another idea? Thank you very much.

To clarify, on the left side you want 4 samples to play in random order? Put all four slices in a single WAV file, slice it and use slice motion to play a random slice. Do the same for the right hand side.

The left/right split can be achieved with crossfade A using layers 1 and 3. Mod matrix 'pad x' > 'layer crossfade y', quantize 0050.

Yes, that's what I'd like to do. I would never have thought of using a random slice. I didn't know about this use of crossfade either (or shaper 0050 for that matter). Thank you very much. Great idea! This way, I can play more than 4 samples randomly on each side.
