Wouldn't a drum program with disk streaming samples fill your requirement ?

The drum tracks don't support Quantized sample triggering (and no, note repeat does not do that).

About the crossfader. It's not clear whether people who don't have a Force or a MPC equipped with a touch strip can actually use the cross fader function via MIDI IN?

Is it possible to use a external MIDI knob or fader and assign it to the crossfader via control change? It doesn't seem like it is the case.

It would be great if one could control the cross fader and the program Q-Links with a MIDI controller, but alas this is not possible.

Yeah, that's what I suspected,

By the way:

mpc_fan_2022 wrote:1/ In the clip matrix, is it possible adjust the level of an audio clip in an audio track without having to touch the track level or automating the volume or use scenes? do audio clips have their own level setting?

2/ is it possible to keep the clip launch function for pads when changing modes? It's possible to trigger clips via the pads in the clip matrix view, however, switching to any other mode will make the pads go back to drum triggering, it seems like one cannot use the pads for clip launching outside the clip matrix view, which sucks, if one wants to tweak effects or levels while launching clips...

1/ Yes, main mode => grid, select the pointer tool, select the sample and change the level.

2/ No, it is not possible.

mpc_fan_2022 wrote:2/ No, it is not possible and it's extremely stupid. This is something AKAI needs to fix. I want to be in Mixer mode and still be able to launch clips, just like it's possible to play a drum track in that mode, otherwise it means that the clip matrix functionality is not completely integrated to the rest of the workflow...

That's sucks. The Force pads can stay in Launch Mode. It can even be split up in multiple modes at once like 16 Drum pad, 32 pads for the Step-Seq & clips, or Clips, drums, 16 levels...

Not an issue on the Live 3 (or Force). Upgrade your game!

Damn, I'm sad that Akai missed the opportunity to make the Sequence the Clip Matrix's launch row: it would have made all that so much simpler... And imagine Song Mode chaining Launch Rows !
