Connecting MPC One 2.x to Raspberry Pi?

Is there any way to use the USB port to send MIDI to a computer without the Akai software?

I am running Pianoteq on a Raspberry and want to use it with the MPC.

I can connect the Raspberry with USB to my keyboard (Blofeld) and it works fine, but when I plug in the MPC nothing is detected.

Do I need to buy an DIN interface and use the DIN Midi?

In an ideal setup, the Raspberry would use the MPC also for audio out.
Right now I am using a HDMI monitor output.

What's running on the Pi? Raspbian?

Try opening a terminal and running lsusb, see if the device is recognized.

Theoretically, the MPC runs as a standard midi and audio device under Linux, but you'll lose most of the functionality.

It's not recognized, in standalone mode.
In controller mode it is recognized but the MPC hangs in a loop looking for the software to connect.

I am running Raspberry OS latest version.

If so that would be cool to share. I have a few Pi's laying around that I'd like to play with the MPC to mess around or whatever.

no, it does not work as originally intended, it's a normal USB to DIN Midi cable / interface connected to the Midi ports.

But this very product from Thomann works plug and play without driver also on Raspberry.
I was in doubt because it selects automatically which output is midi in or midi out, there is no label.

I use the headphone audio out from a very small Waveshare hdmi monitor, not the best quality but buffer size is 64 samples at 32kHz. Connected with a cheap car hifi audio transformer / DI in between the monitor and the MPC to reduce hum. I didnt try without, since this thing was just laying around here.
There is a small hum, but with monitor output to max the level is just right and its ok.

to clarify, yes the Raspberry is connected with Midi to the MPC, but not using the Midi B port as I wanted.
