MPC One not detecting autorun folder or content

I needed to reinstall my internal default content. I requested the autorun file from support and they sent me a link to the file quickly. I downloaded the autorun folder and put it in a freshly formatted extFAT SD card in the root directory.


But the MPC doesn't detect the autorun. It sees the SD card just fine... but it doesn't do anything with it when it powers on. Worth noting, everyone says the file is 12gb but the autorun folder Akai sent me was only 1.5gb

Any ideas?

do you need to UNZIP it ?

unzip it and copy the autorun folder to the root of a memory card. then insert it into the MPC with the power off and power the mpc on. it will take quite a while to copy the content back to the machine so just leave it alone until it enters the MPC software like normal. While its copying it should show an image indicating that it's copying.

I got it figured out late last night. I’m wondering if this is a bug with the latest firmware…

I did exactly what everyone says and what the support teams instructions listed but when I powered on the unit it just booted like normal.

HOWEVER, at one point out of pure frustration I ejected the drive with the autorun folder and inserted it with the unit already powered on and THAT worked. If the drive was inserted (usb or sd card didn’t make a difference) before the unit was on, nothing booted, if I inserted the drive after it was booted, I got the prompt and it reset perfectly and now it’s back to normal.

Why? No clue.

Probably some race condition between file system mounting service and the one that triggers the script.

It's very explicit in the direction that Akai sends that the unit must be powered off, then insert the drive, then power on and wait. I can only assume that something in the firmware has changed and no one has caught it yet? I have no idea.

Just wanted to confirm that the solution for me was to first boot the MPC and wait for it to be fully started up, then insert the USB drive. The autorun folder was detected and I was asked if I wanted to install content.

The autorun was never detected if I just put the USB drive in the MPC while it was powered off and then turned on the MPC.
