Ayo!
I've been stuck for a week now on MPC Bible's C03 chapter because I cannot properly connect my external Korg Minilogue for some reason , or any other synth I've tried via 5pin. They don't get recognised as an output port in preferences and therefore there is no midi information going on. I've seen plenty of YouTube videos and it seems to be working just fine for everybody else but i don't see any differences in the way we setup our hardware. Thanks to everyone that replies!

The MIDI port of the MPC is simply called "MPC".

Only MIDI devices connected via USB will create a new virtual MIDI port.

To play your synth from the MPC set the MIDI out of the track to "MPC" and match the MIDI channel to that of the synth.

FYI:
The MIDI protocol has neither names for ports nor for connected gear. Each port is just a DIN connector able to handle 16 channels. To be able to connect 16 synths you must either daisy chain all of them using the input and through ports or use a MIDI thru box.
