So, I've one of my Keystep 37's knobs assigned to Fabric XL's "Layer 2 Vol" (I love "Work Layer Hard" caricatural workstation piano layered with simple "Analog Poly"). CC value 127 does map to the parameter's maximum... But that maximum saturates the channel - ugly artefacts. The actual service ceiling is half that, and it is marked with a black line on the instrument's Program Edit UI. So, I have to avoid exceeding 64 - watching the Keystep's segment display as I carefully turn the knob... Not fun while playing.
I would like to either set a maximal value to the CC, or map it with a multiplier/divider so that 1=1 and 127=64. Is that sort of thing possible on MPC, or is the CC's raw value always what the target parameter is set to ?
Writing that reminded me to look into the Arturia Keystep 37's manual, and it has a solution for me - though I'll have to install their "MIDI Control Center" in a VM (Linux shop here), and I would have preferred the customizations to remain all on the MPC side.
