sample in MPC 3 software on PC

I have tried to sample an external synth with my MPC One with the autosample function. It worked out great.
Now I would love to sample a standalone softsynth on my pc (there is no VST available). I would like the MPC software to do it this time. I use a RME Fireface UC soundcard so I select that in the software an set the in and outputs in preferences. Now when I go to the sampler I can set the input but it shows me 32 inputs, my RME only have 8 in and outs....

Can someone help me out setting up MPC software correctly so I can sample my standalone softsynth ?

I think I got it configured. The audio out of my softsynth was going to RME 1-2 which where going to my speakers so I routed the synthoutput to RME 5&6 and I had to activate the loopback option on channel 5-6 to route it to RME 1-2. Now I was able to choose 5-6 as input in MPC software sampler. So no cables were used. I also connected the midi out from MPC to my midi interface and set that midi as input in the softsynth. Maybe that isn't necessary and maybe you can set the MPC midi out as input to the softsynth immediately, I used a cable here. Now on the midi track in MPC you choose the correct input and in the sampler you set input to 5-6. Now you will have audio input from the softsynth. the rest is bloody easy, choose autosampler and configure the options like range, length, tail and layers.

(RME) flex loopback testify

I couldn't replicate the midi routing after a crash...anyway, the easiest way to set up the midi is by using a virtual midi cable (midiloop is what I use) and set that as output on the midi track and as input on the standalone synth. So you don't need a midi cable anymore.
