Hi all,
I’m creating an ambient performance setup on my MPC Live III that uses an external MIDI controller, and I’m wondering if anyone can confirm something for me?
I am building trying to build a patch that uses the new oscillators. I am experimenting both with key groups and drum programs. When it comes to assigning external controllers, there is an inconsistency between the two that makes me wonder if I'm missing something.
When I'm making a Drum Program based sound I can assign a MIDI-learned control to many of the parameters of an oscillator. For example, I can MIDI learn a controller to
Source: Track>Drum 001>Pad>Bank A>A01
Target: Track>Layer 1 Osc Parameter 1
But if I am building a Keygroup that uses the same Oscillator, I don't see anyway to control that same Oscillator Parameters.
I hope this all makes sense. Am I missing something? (I'm still learning the MPC flow, so it's totally possible that I am.)
Basically, I'd like to control Oscillator parameters from external controllers on a Keygroup patch and I can't seem to figure out how - which is confusing to me because for Drum patches, it's quite easy to do.
Can anyone confirm and/or tell me what I'm doing wrong?
