Is there any reason I really need to download 2.0 if I'm just using the Live in standalone mode?

How about all the legacy expansion packs, AIR and SONiVOX instruments, or sound libraries? Aren't those the things that are already on my Live? Or are they things I should copy onto my SDD in the Live?

Also - I may be missing something, but how do I check on the software version I have? Is there a way to put your name/info on the Live?

I feel I might be missing some obvious answers here, but so far I'm just playing demos, then banging away on rudimentary patterns. It's a lot of fun!

ive had the live for a week now and ive not even downloaded the software. if i need it for updates ill do it then but that would be the only reason i would use the software (i live in a hardware environment).

Did you get an activation code from your akaipro account?

Hi Tutor,
Yes, I did. It shows the green check-mark when entering the serial. A prompt returns a message alla "used too many times" (not at my computer atm). I might have registered twice by accident?

Thanks!

Aren't the "Air Virtual Instruments" already on the Live? Or do they need to be added? Or is the download strictly for the 2.0 software you install on your computer?

I've installed 2.0 (now 2.01.1 or something like that) on my MacBook, but I've yet to install any of the sounds. Just curious if I can check that stuff without installing and then comparing the Live and the MacBook for sounds, etc.

The Air instruments aren't for the live. Only the software. They are Plug ins so can only be used in controller mode in software

I'm just the opposite. It might just as well come with no sounds at all. For me, the thrill is in building this house from the ground up.
