MIDI Learn coming in 2.2 update?

Dan from akai hinted over on the gearslutz thread that MIDI learn was coming in the next update. This would make it possible to map external controllers to the MPC modes and parameters. I defintely wanted a way to map an external controller to certain things so I wouldn't need to use the touch screen for things that require going to the Menu to make a mode selection.

I gotta say wasn't expecting something like this in the next update. Gives me more hope some of things higher on my list of wants get implemented.

Dan says a lot of things. He also said that 2.2 will contain features you wouldn't expect coming. Seems to be a big update though. Most likely this will drop in June to conflict with Pioneer's update for the Toraiz SP-16 just like they did with 2.1 which released a day after the DJS' 1.1 update. Its war I tell ya. Get ready for summer!!!

Fingers crossed for Cross fade loop.

I doubt midi learn would be enabled for sample edit mode, for us live users that would be dope for start and end point mapping.

That pushing down on and holding down a Q-Link will give you zooming on the grid.

Good feature

so I should also add to this - as of MPC 2.2 we're going to be distributing firmware updates in an additional format - USB stick, meaning you can download the USB update, stick it on a thumb drive and update the MPC Live / X just by plugging the thumb drive into its USB port, so you don't have to upgrade just yet

the last update fixed an annoying bug that wasn't present on first release. At some point in the update history we lost the ability to chose which pad to save a sample to by hitting it. You had to use the scroll wheel. Happily they have fixed that - hope remains flickering in the darkness.....

akai lurker pulled the plug.

Looks like everything is getting lined up for multitimbral support.

Really looking forward to more sampling updates as well as effects updates. Much more importantly disk streaming.

Midi out over usb is another killer feature but I’m not sure how much I’d use it.

I think it would be cool to have a keyboard running this os too.
