I just decided to replace my internal hd with an ssd on Mpc Live, hoping that this will solve some dropouts problems I get since a year or more.
I just have no experience with ssd, so which one is the most trustable and performative one?
I think 256gb is more then enough for me.

First of all, what kind of "dropout" problems are you having? Last night while sitting on the couch, my Live kept losing sound and the transport just stopped responding. Closing and reopening the song project allowed me to resume work, but it kept happening randomly. I'm on 2.7...

Anyway, as far as SSD's are concerned, there are a plethora which can be considered "best". I ended up going with a Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, which rates pretty great for the price (currently $146 USD):

It's years I get some dropouts and glitches when I change mode or go from main to other modes.
I thought it was some OS issue but everyone here and in other forums told me they don't have any problem like me so I started to think it's something related to my hardware.
I just took out my hd, put projects on sd card and apparently the dropout doesn't happen anymore but I need to use my Live more to test it.
If the dropout disappears, then of course it's an Hd problem
But I don't wanna work with sd card, I hate sd cards.
Maybe a good performative ssd can fix the problem.
So you suggest samsung-860-evo-ssd?
How do I understand the quality of ssd? What do I have to read, which technical specs?

In the early life of the Live some units stuttered when going from menu to menu. People had to get units swapped out from akai.

Yes. It's a fantastic drive. The 850 series was one of the most popular SSD's on the market, and the 860 just improves on it.

Virtually any and all SSD's out there far exceed the transfer rates of what the MPC Live hardware is capable of, so I wouldn't stress too much on specs. The performance differences between SSD on the Live will be negligible - almost unmeasurable. Just go for a reputable manufacturer and a product that has decent reviews (the 860 is one of them).

@ Kaydigi

Oh really?
Do you know what exactly was the issue?
The problem is that I bought my Live 2nd hand two years ago, I don't think it is still on warranty.
And where I live there is no music shops and no Akai anywhere.

Great to know.
I'll check samsung 860 so.
But first I have to understand if that's the real problem.

Well, like NearTao said - the Live doesn't do hard disc streaming, so once content is loaded into RAM I don't see how that would cause the issue like both you and I are describing. But the fact that you eliminated your hard drive and switched to an SD card, and your problem went away does seem to indicate there's something amiss with the hard disc you installed.

...which makes me sort of want to take my own SSD out and see if I keep experiencing the transport lockups and audio dropout. :hmmm:

Wait, I just removed it today.
Until now it's going good.
But that problem was unpredictable, it could not happen for a week and then badly for a couple of days, disappear and appear again.
So I wanna check it for at least a week.
I know there is no disc streaming, but some informatic friend told me sometimes Hd can cause problems even without disc streaming, they can enter in sleep mode or can cause some conflict.
I don't know, man, I am not an expert but I wanna solve this stutter/glitch/dropout or whatever it is.
It makes me nervous everytime I have to switch mode.
If I discover it's not the hd, well, I think I need to know if I can repair it somehow or just get another one.

Did you solve your problem?
Here is the 2nd day using Live without hd and my dropout/stutter/whhatever is not happening.
I want to be sure, so I am gonna make a week without hd.

I had a Samsung EVO stop working. My computer could see it in Controller mode, but the Live couldn't in standalone. No problems with the replacement since though.

Did you have any glitches before it passed out?

None that I recall, but I honestly wasn't doing much prior. I was experimenting with the software versus Logic Pro using virtual instruments exclusively. It wasn't until I settled on Logic for my software needs and finally went to work in standalone that I noticed I couldn't see the SSD.
