Just got my mpc one and I love it.

Ima bit concerned though about some noise though the headphones especially when nothing is playing. It’s a bit like the sound of a phone line with no one talking. Little clicks buzzing, humming etc.

Is my unit defective?

Also, I think it’s fine out of the main output. I really like the machine so far, but I’m afraid maybe this one is just fault?

So, nothing else plugged in to the machine.

Doesn’t matter how high or low I set the record/master volume. The knobs have no effect on this noise.

Hi I have received my new MPC one retro edition. Similarly it has the headphone noise you mentioned. I tired it on difference outlet, it doesn't;t seem to go away. I wonder how your problem resolved?

Have you tried Different Headphones?

Hi, I got my mpc one (normal black one) today, and noticed this noise from headphone jack too, when nothing is playing and it is quite annoying. Not loud but not quiet either, clearly distracting.

Tried different wall outlets around the apartment = no help

Tried 3 different pair of headphones with 2 different cables = all have the noise

It is like kind of a white noise or "fly (insect) flying around buzzing" kind of static electrical noise.

I noticed that it starts when the lights turn on around the machine, not the drum pads, but all the white menu/setting buttons with yellow lights.

Like when I start new project and all lights go away for few seconds -> noise stops, and then starts again when lights turn on.

I dont have anything else connected than power supply + headphones, tried to check settings, but didnt find anything useful.

Is there some kind of setting to check / try? Other than the know on the back, which doesnt really affect "the noise" as it is audible and about the same no matter how low or high the volume is.

I guess I have to send it back, if this is faulty unit. Kind of sad and scary if there is a chance to get another noisy unit.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. I know this is a late reply to the thread, but the reason I am on this forum is because a few days ago I bought myself an MPC One (black, standard editiion) and I am also having noise from the headphone jack. Noise diminishes when I touch the CPU icon in the top right corner and the drum pads turn off. Also, I have two pairs of headphones:

- Sennheiser HD25 (70 ohm)
- Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (80 ohm)

The noise is less on the Beyerdynamics, I'm guessing due to their higher impedance of 80 ohms but I'm not sure.

Main outputs are free from noise. Do you think I have a defective unit or is this a design flaw impacting all MPC Ones?

Thanks!

UPDATE: I took my MPC One back to the shop and asked to try another unit to see if it also would have a noisy headphone jack - There was no noise on it! So to anyone with a brand new MPC One and a noisy headphone jack, don't settle for it. Take it back and demand a new one with no noise. My guess is that this is a design flaw from AKAI or alternatively poor quality control. Best!

What's up everyone. I just got a brand new MPC One from Amazon yesterday and I noticed the same high pitch sound in the headphone jack as well. It's noticable and slightly annoying when there's no sound playing. I really don't want to go thru the trouble of shipping it back to Amazon then reordering it just for the replacement to make the same noise.

I think the noise in the One headphones is a design error. It is unlikely that replacing the unit will change the problem.

Known issue, ive had 3 mpc ones (returns/replacements) the 2nd one had that issue and was replaced. I feel your pain but its not normal, theyll replace it.

Gotta love Inmusic QC.

The same here. Send it back, get a replacement.

This might sound stupid, but please make sure all your (connected) gear is powered by the same power outlet. If this doesn‘t help, get a replacement.
