His video was the light bulb moment for me to restructure my gear around my soundcraft mixer and interface that can send receive usb data on all channels and is class compliant. Now I have sends returns for all channels for my mono synths plus I can record everything on the fly. That easily made my live ii the most powerful piece of gear I have in my amateur studio.

I like that he's calling Akai out on their BS about the pop & clicks!

Little he knows that 8 audio tracks limit is artificialy imposed by AKAI - these boxes are capable of running 16+ audio tracks without any hicups and ~32 tracks if you don't use any instrument plugins (been done on Force already) . Speaking of plugins - there is a way of lifting 8 plug limit as well afaik. Would not suprise me if AKAI start selling additional tracks/plugs/submixes for a low low price of $9.99 lol

The more channels you route through the MPC, the larger the impact will be when it crashes.

Limits are imposed for a flowers purpose so that everything else can share the space and run normally….for the most part……

Why can't those limits be customize per project tho?

1 project per power on.
People attempt to split options and features to have several "songs" and "projects" in the same RAM space
and that's not how the machine was designed.
It's already per project.

I was thinking more like if you only need lets say Audio tracks for 1 project, let us use as many the system can handle while giving up other things.

not entirely true
system is already configured to manage resources, it doesn't matter if you max out the ram or processing power with 8 plugins or 8 audio tracks, it won't let you load stuff beyond resources limit. I can have 3 audio tracks that will take so much space that mpc will display "plugin failed to load" when I try to insert additional instrument on top of that, but at the same time I can have 8 audio tracks and a bunch of other samples with spare room for another two or three instances of jura or other plugin. It wouldn't change a thing if I'll be able to load 16 tracks or 16 plugins as long as I won't reach the resources limit. heck, I might even have NO INSTRUMENT PLUGINS and NO SAMPLES but still hit that treshold if I put a crap ton of effects all over the place - but still... IT'S UP TO MPC TO DECIDE IF I HAVE ENOUGH RESOURCES TO DO IT.

8 plugins or 8 audio tracks or 8 submixes is an artificial limit imposed by developers.

The dude should take KSaohDRVomM as an artist name, he'd have a vanity Youtube video id right there. I'm a huge fan of KSaohDRVomM btw.
