Better release it late than releasing it with some sort of an OS breaking\licensing\core OS bug. The shistorm would have been of biblical proportions

Maybe they're trying to fix the catastrophic MIDI multitimbral and MMC bugs before a major version release

Any news on mouse / Wacom options in MPC 3? Looks like we are heading towards more touch screen use from what I can tell watching the vids that are up? Would be lovely if they'd implement extra shortcuts using the pads and or button combinations!

Well, until it's fixed both my MPCs sit to one side, I've substituted a PC for now as that will have zero issues with my external midi gear.
I just have this terrible feeling v3 will drop with the midi bugs in place, just feel it in my bones.

Akai has blocked this for some reason. For example, you can share the internet for MPC via USB cable from an Android phone, things like this are all in the system by default and if it doesn't work it has been deactivated by them.

I'm with you on this, and don't think it's gonna get fixed for MPC3. They seemed to have had this Midi bug on the back-burner for some time now. It's obviously a low priority for them, and my feeling is that it will likely get pushed back even further with other more immediate issues arising from the introduction of MPC3. I hope I'm wrong... Would really like it fixed for an MPC2 update prior to MPC3 (especially MMC), but who knows?

It could've been something about 2.0 that wouldn't allow them to fix it & I hopefully 3.0 can get rid of those bugs.

An Akai employee (Nicethings) that pops up on the Force gearspace.com thread once in a blue, said that the thing about adding features & bug fixes is that both can mess up something unrelated, so its not so simple as we would think. I always try to keep that in mind.

Thats neat and all, but an Android OS on a consumer phone is not even remotely close to the Linux that's running in these. Shit the base Android OS is completely different from anything Samsung, LG, etc releases on their phones. Go play with the vanilla Android installation and see how awesome it is compared to a Galaxy phone with all kinds of shit added on top of it.. You cant even use half of the internet with Chromium out of the box because its missing the entire proprietary security layer that Google puts into Chrome.

Chromium is the worst.
