The Force on screen sample limit is 60 mins, but people have recorded beyond that. I don't know if that's that case with the MPC, but it's easy to find out if you really wanted.

Looks like the MIDI multichannel bug is still with us -- just tested it out now and note offs are killing sustained notes across all channels on all tracks, not just the channel the note off was received on.

steps to reproduce:

set up 2 tracks which produce pitched audio from a keyboard or sequencer MIDI signal

track A: respond only to MIDI channel 1
track B: respond only to MIDI channel 2

1. send a sustained note on to MIDI channel 1 (note on without a note off)
2. send a staccato note (same pitch/note value as sent to channel 1) to MIDI channel 2 (note on with note off)

the note on MIDI channel 1 will be killed by the note off sent to MIDI channel 2

Anybody know why it just says waiting for a response from authorization servers for an hour now? It kept telling me I needed to log in everyone I was so I logged out and now it won't let me log back in?

Was just gonna ask about this, having not had a chance yet to try the MPC3 beta myself. I had a feeling that this may be the case though. Thanks for checking this out..... At least they've fixed MMC it seems.

I just realized besides not being able to log in my account from the mpc, I also can't get any sound from anything.. just noise and a oscillation.. what is going on?

This will happen if the beta is not activated, so you need to log in. Are you sure you are connected to the internet?

I can't seem to be able to set the loop or markers anywhere but whole bars in the arranger, no matter what i do/press ..

what am i doing wrong ?

Nothing, it's a known bug, was working in the Andy Mac video but now is broken.

That's the deal killer for me, I use a lot of external midi gear and I was waiting for this to be resolved.
It looks like I'll be going back to a PC for my new setup, I just can't hold out any longer, it's been three years and that's just about enough.

Do you mean the whole update doesn't work unless you are logged in the Internet? Can you be wireless? I can't even log in it won't see the servers. If you have to be always on the Internet you can't ever leave the house with your mpc?

No, no, no. it's not supposed to do that, it doesn't do that for most people. He's getting a bug - Ive sat here all day with wifi 'off' and beta still running fine, even after two reboots.

Also be aware that the final 'stable' release will apparently not need an activation/license code at all, it will be just like any other firmware update, download and install, the end.

But this beta activation system also allows them to further test the licensing system as a whole, so hopefully will help them nail the ongoing plugin activation issues some people have.

Yes I'm connected with WiFi it says it is at least.
When I try to log in it just says connecting with servers but never actually connects and gives me a code. I put the code in on the Internet but it still just says connecting to servers.. maybe I need to plug it in with a wire but it is a xse so I don't have the same port to connect it..
What a mess..

Test the internet by going to Preferences > Info > Update and select 'online update'. If you are not connected it should give you an error. Also hold down SHIFT on the wifi page to see if you have a public IP address (rather than an internal network address like 192.1.....)

The absence of clips and the loop bug killed it for me at least. I wasn't into testing further after that. Although I liked the arranger and the mixer.
I'll wait for the next release.
