Ok bet. Since thats the case l will get the Live and just admire the X from a far lol
Just got my new HD Video Camcorder so l can make that vid rocking the Live.

That battery really got me. As you know at shows things some times shut down. And the only thing that will be rolling is emergency lights and the Live. And you can stiil put on a semi show.
Or the lights go out period where ever you are. Wonder why Akai didn't put a battery on the X?
I don't believe all X's will stay in one spot. It will show up at shows and will travel.

Dope machines though. I can't wait.

From my point of view the battery is only good for when your traveling or like Masada did (take it outside to the woods and sample things.)
I for one would never take my 1k+ costing device out to the woods (There are much cheaper devices out there to do that kind of thing) but each to their own..

When your on stage doing live stuff there is always going to be power sockets around.. Why..?? Because thats the way how it always has been..
Even when you in stand alone mode you'll most likely have your laptop around that needs to be plugged in because your low on battery.

I've had the MPC Touch for a full year and I must say that it gets work done. But If you're someone like me who has had a MPC with all the bells and whistles (buttons and faders) you''ll notice that the Touch is lacking in terms of control.

No dedicated << >> buttons. Its a pain in the *, to keep shifting your Q-links and the list goes on.

Appart from the fact that I'm a flagship kinda guy, this and the Larger screen has got me fixated on the MPC-X

If I would ever need a battery for the 'X' I'll make my own. (19Volts should not be so hard to do).

I would get the X but I already own an MV8800 which remains 10 years ahead of the Ren. I'm getting the Live as an entry level into the whole MPC 2.0 thing. If I find myself loving the Live and workflow, I will sell the MV and the Live and put the money toward an X.

If I like the Live, I may keep it and just sell off my MPC500 instead and other samplers.

I've warmed to the Live but the X is an entirely different beast. For me it's worth stumping up the extra cash just to get that additional level of control and connectivity, plus I've already got my iPad and Nano Studio for when I'm travelling or at the girlfriend's house.

the X is better than the mv8800 clearly from my observation; also confirm what the mv can do that the ren cannot?

Your observation is equivalent to porn fantasizing.

MV was already a full fledged DAW in a sampler. You can even upload pics

You tell me since you observe so well.

can the mv do real-time time-stretch?

Anything possible in the MV, it does have timestretch, for real time I just pitch up or down and get the key with pitch-shift.

u know the mv is kinda old tech compared with X and live what exactly does the mv do that cannot be done on X and live.

mpc 2.0 does certainly appear to be a DAW in a sampler as u stated.

Time stretching isn't the same as pitch shift.

What's up Zang how are you?

Yeah bro l love the X that won't change and who knows l MIGHT get it. But it is eye candy because do l realistically need it? From my stand point no. Everyone will have their reason why they wull get either machine.

As you read my initial need for either machine was 2. Everything else is extra. Do l need 8 outs? Nah l don't because l really enjoy and love being in the box than being connected analog style. I don't want to record into any interface anymore. So both provide that. Do l need cv/gate? Most definitely not because lm not a trance/EDM guy. I do Hip-hop, RNB, Dance hall, Pop and Orchestral music.

Only thing l would of missed is the 16 QLinks but l now got that covered. Ill use the LPD8 being l have it.

Live is just as powerful as the X its just smaller. That finger filter thingy lol l can do on the live. You can hook up the same storage also.

I can spend less and get the exact same result? That's dope on my end.

IMO the battery is very important and Akai was smart to do that.
1. If l forget my power supply l don't have to worry.
2. Lights go out l dont have to worry about losing a track.

Im at a place where l tame my want beast. My need becomes first.
At the end of the day l need that sequencer so l won't go through what lm goung through now.

I do outside recordings but l wouldn't take the Live out to do it. Zoom HDn does an impeccable job. Its made just for that.

So there you have it. I just want that fyn l use to have when l had the 2000XL. I believe these machines will bring that standalone joy back. :smoker:

But if l could get the X for at least $1600 and some change l would just get that honestly and half of that would stull be eye candy for me. I can be honest bout that. L can get the Live for less and get the same result. Plus l could get a nice lappy with i7 and win 10 to go with the Live. :smoker: lma win either way.

@lll-Green hay bro if it was me and the MV8800 was working l wouldn't buy neigher machine. Thats me though. I dont know that machine and how you're working it .

For example if l right now had the 2000XL l wouldn't get either machine. But if my 2000XL broke down l wouldn't invest in buying a new used one l would get a X or Live. Hence, l love the fact that the legacy MPCs still can replace parts thats kinda dope. But for me at this state and time ti go new would be good for me.

That's all bro.
From what l hear the MV is a dope
