The point is that I exported my music from Ableton to play it live with MPC standalone and they only way to do it is to export clips and play them with MPC.
So I really need a useable Clip mode and right now its very unstable, sometimes they work, sometimes they stop without any reason and I cannot switch to a synth or add any drums or keys.

This is the issue with all in one machines. It takes time because they are dealing with so many workflows.

Yes but they should fix existing issues before implementing new features or at least make it at the same time.
It's one year Clip mode needs to be fixed.

So is the 2.3 firmware and software update safe and stable. I haven't seen to many post with complaints of the updates crashing. I'm still on the firmware and software from the summer of last year out the box.

Ok lm happy :-) <---- Yeaaaay!

Is it me or the touch screen is more responsive? I was using it and l was flying without double taking back to a specific point. Its on point!

No glitches!

Sequencer tight as F***!

Aaaaaaah the new synths are fantastico! Loving that bass joint.

Im with Tutor on autosampler. Its not perfect but has potential. I usually do one notes into Reason on the NNXT and make my own patches. Its dope, l'll stick to that.

But l just fell in love all over again with my MPC Live!

Yeah I agree.
Great update. Its like a new device now.
Stable and powerful.
Did you try tweaking and messing up with Electric?
And messing up with lfo on Tubesynth?
Great tools my friend.
Akai rules.

Without Grossbeats 1, Grossbeats 2, Grossbeats 3, and Edit by Voice this update is a total bust. I'm going back to the future, where I didn't have to touch the machine, it was linked to our souls at birth. I rocking the BEAT MPC THANG MK 4251 with 40305.32 OS update.

I'm thinking of sampling some of the JD-Xi drum sets. There are 26 instruments per kit, obviously they're not looped, but the sample length will vary loads (eg rimshot vs crash). I guess if I use autosample I'll need to manually open, shorten and resave each sample, then probably assign them to a drum rather than keygroup programme? Is that how you might approach it?

Yes, I guess set the recording time to the longest needed (e.g. the cymbals) and then manually trim each sample. Save the keygroup and reassign the samples to the DRUM program. A lot of autosampling software can be configured to auto trim sample length for you, hopefully the MPC version will get this eventually.

Word of warning, if you are thinking of distributing this, think again, Roland historically take a very dim view of anyone resampling their samples for any kind of public distribution (v-Drums are a common target), and I believe the kits in the JD-Xi do contain acoustic samples.

Because I stole his green nail polish.

And you all going crazy because they dropped some synths in standalone which nobody requested, auto sampler and crossfade. That's hilarious.

Don't expect them to ever listen their user base if you happy with this update.

You are half right.
The new implementation of 3 synths and arp is a great gift my friend.
It also shows Akai is developing MPC and they are opening very interesting possibilities for the future.
But I understand your disappointment.
I am also very disappointed that Akai in one year still didn't fix the Clip mode, it is a bit crazy that they even didn't mention or accept that Clip mode is buggy and almost unuseable right now.
That's a shame.
So I am half very happy and half very disappointed.

I agree. I got a bunch of features that I didn't ask for, some limitations have not been addressed, yet I am totally amazed/happy with the results, which is a credit to Akai.

I would have thought the amount of time and effort that went into these upgrades would be several times that needed to fix clip mode. I mean clip mode almost works, it's like its just one tweek from being useful.
Surely this team could fix clip mode during whilst blindfolded.

Having said that, I can't write code, so I have no idea what I am talking about.

Don't need plugins for that, I have a full suite of traditional acoustic instruments for MPC on my site:

https://www.mpc-samples.com/section.php ... struments/

Brass, strings, bass, woodwind, keys, pianos etc. All memory optimised and standalone friendly. You can't autosample a real violin :)
Plugins would be ideal. I am eye-ing your multi-sampled instruments, but would still need to figure out how I'd use them effectively (different articulations) without the convenience of internal program changes. A track per articulation is a PITA.

Not sure if you're talking about the same thing, but the way drag & drop MIDI can't be aimed, requiring a 2nd step is silly.

I was also counting on PDC with so many requesting it. The software is useless to me for mixing without it. I mix in Logic, so it's not that big of a deal for me. But I can't even sound design effectively in the MPC software.

I am one of those happy about the synths. And many requested them, though I didn't.
I use VSTs alot, and auto-sampling along with the synth plugins are the next best thing. I would've requested auto-sampling had I thought of it. Great addition IMO. And I'd assume anyone using VSTs or multi-samples appreciates it as much as I do.

Scott Righteous wrote:Has anyone tested yet how much memory the instrument plug-ins take up?
Not sure I would use them if they ate up more of that shrinking 2G.
My 1st though after the announcement. I've seen a vid with 6 instances using 15% or so of CPU. I've not pushed it in a test, but my personal experience is in line with that.

Similar. I plan on doing some drums 1st and planned on approaching it this way. I too am curious if this would be Tutor's approach.

Yes that's how most of these guys do it. They used Redmatica (Mainstage), SAMPLI, SampleRobot, Extreme Sample Converter. Then go in and edit and refine everything. However for acoustic instrument, it's one sound at a time, done in different velocity.

Honestly Autosampler programs are the reason the Sound Set or Sample Sets market is over saturated. People are just layering pre-existing sounds and repacking them and some don't even do that. Nevertheless this one update turns the Akai Software into a great utility.
