At Akai they know what a bunch of thirsty MFers their customer base is, and that by showing some preview side-boob everybody will act out like a bunch of crazed dogs. By the time Stems drops the anticipation will be so high some people will beg Akai to take their money.

I was going thru splice and found the sample Andy used in his demonstration now when I'm on live 2 the sample runs in flac but on the PC I get it as wav. Will we get good stems from both? Also with stand alone and less memory is some type of internet integration possible too alleviate some pressure on the cpu or will that cause more server cost just asking.

From the quality side, flac and wav are the same..

Akai isn’t TE and TE isn’t Akai. The nominal cost and ease of manufacturing of the EP-133 makes for easier stock build up with less investment.

Comparisons are rather pointless.

the principle is the same when the hype is high u flood the market and that allows u to maximise sale cos people get caught up in hype, so comparissions can always be made

there is no garuantee that the delay is due to beta testing it could just be arbitary; or could be they are coinicding it with the new mpc rollout; so maybe they want that stock to be in place before the roll out of stems

not gonna lie, this is the first paid thing they have offered that has me considering it... i have not updated in a year or two, and am still running one of the first LIVE MK1 machines in my country (still runs 100% with no issues)

that being said, one turn off for me was reading about a firmware update (you know i check here before installing it) .. not a fan of a plugin authentication service running on my standalone when i have not and do not plan on buying any sample packs, instrument plugins, skins, or what ever other micro transaction DLC they are peddling. And if I am not mistaken, it was on disc DLC with some of the updates. Don't quote all of that as fact, i am rusty on the topic... but I just didn't bother downloading newer revisions of the firmware because of that.... plus there being nothing new (particularly something new that would make me accept the authentication center thing as a negligible trade off).

When I first heard about this, I really thought about keeping my mpc and purchasing the stem license. But then I found stemroller, which is free and needs no installation, relies on nothing more than a pc, and after testing it with several tracks and film soundtracks, it gives good results mostly. So think I'll pass on this.

Yeah that makes sense.

With MPC Stems for standalone your paying for the convenience of not having to use a PC to do it, even tho it may be faster.

I like Demucs, because I can batch run it, and it is super fast on a good GPU, something like 30x realtime speed. Getting stems from a Youtube video can go in half a minute at best, including the download.

I don't mind the time it takes, the results are what matter most.

There are alot more people willing to spend $300 on hype than $700 on hype.

Again, scale matters.

The simple truth is that advertising only works on the weak minded. That's why subliminal programming and hypnosis don't work on many people.

Advertising months ahead just gives me time to think and realise I'd be wasting my time and money buying it.

I saw a video of King Korg neo yesterday and it looks and sounds bloody amazing! Then five minutes after watching, I thought... What's the point when I have several hardware synths, several hundred plugins with several hundred thousand presets! Why on earth is there a need for another synth, EVER? Or sampler or sequencer. Everything is the same recycled stuff which is deprived, just enough to make you want more. That's why I'm selling my live 2. I love the pads, the screen, the sounds, the sampling features, but hate the whole eco system so much it makes me not want to bother. Shame really.

advertising works well on most of the general public in particular women and children;

subliminals and hypnosis aboslutely do work, hence why people are made to vote for politicians that they know are scum, or take untested medicines cos they buy in to the paradigm on some level.

yes advertising ahead gives time for the hype to cool off; whereas if the product is there right away people get swept up in group think and they will also buy.

the human hive/ herd is very much open to manipulation; and is highly suggestable.

when when people see a product getting rave reviews; people who were initially not interested will get interested just to fit into the group.

if u understand the work of edward bernays and his book propaganda u will see how mallable the individual and the group are.

so dont decieve urself in thinking that sbliminals and adverts dont work, there is a reason why companies spend millions on it; and everyone making money on youtube is getting paid based off advertising views.
