Looks like the MPCs will be delayed until April. No one got any shipment, I guess Akai Australia was right when he said they expect units by May and June.

Dudes at gearslutz hounded the reps at sweetwater and they were told April 24 for the Live from Akai themselves. Thomann already put up a hard date from "product not available" to "Shipping April 27th" B&H about to change their dates too.

We **** on this waiting game.

And B&H did not honor my price match from another country. **** it, still getting a deal $939.00 is a good **** price especially from Germany.

WOW is that for the MPC X?
Shit is like 2499 in australia

edit: just looked at thommann and im guessing it's the live your looking at.

I just did the math and with shipping + import tax + power adapter its actually more than what I will pay here in aus and no local warranty if there's harware issues.

Yup yup, for the Live.

The X is $1799.00 from Thomann too but on your side of the planet, you would have to pay a lot of fees like you say, tax import, VAT etc.

I bought from all over the world, only thing I paid was shipping. USA does not have VAT. But most prices include the VAT so I maybe never noticed but I emailed Thomann and they responded with the exact price you see in my screenshot. They just told me that US "may" charge me at Customs but we know they just look for contraband and drugs.

Our local pricing is pretty decent. There's really no point looking o/s.

How'd you get the price down to €889.50 on Thomann? When I go on Thomann I'm seeing €977 which is about $1030 plus shipping. Which isn't awful, but lower is always nice!

Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news there. And nothing is guaranteed until we know our product is on the water.

Then what's this?

I think you guys all need to chill out a bit. Clearly no retailer knows when they are getting stock, and that's probably because MPC 2.0 isn't ready yet so Akai are unable to give concrete shipping dates. Once 2.0 is ready I'm sure the units will begin shipping, but if they are still fixing bugs then there's no way they can know in advance when the software will be ready. Until then all these pre-order dates are complete B.S., made up to rope people into pre-ordering.

As for going for the import route, buyer beware as you could be up shit creek if there's any problems, be it warranty related or shipping issues (lost shipment, damages etc). Plus most countries do charge import fees & taxes, maybe not the US (although I hear Trump is apparently looking to change that). Also remember you'll probably get charged in EUR or GBP, so your card issuer is going to add up to 5% exchange fees on top of that. There's also the possibility that the US will get the first shipments, so by the time your unit ships from the EU, the US prices will have already dropped.

It's also pretty clear that most retailers in the US are very much open to offering price matches and discount coupons, so remember to weigh up any potential savings compared to the ball ache of forgoing warranty protections.

Oh snap. Just checked and you seem to be right on this one. I'm so used to JJOS giving remote Q-links that I naively assumed the newer Akai software would also have this feature. Bummed tbh

I can only hope/pray that Akai adds this much needed feature in 2.0

Depends where you live at, if you look at price, it says VAT excluded. I'm guessing they added VAT to your price.

I visited their site as if I was in Great Britain, and VAT was included in all the prices and cheaper in USD.

Btw, that screenshot was taken last week, where it says "Product not available" now changed to "April 27th"

The selling prices do vary depening on where you live.
Recently was checking out prices of Genelecs, and UK site showed a cheaper price, but I couldnt buy for that price myself (I dont live in the UK).
