OK OK thanks for clarifying, I read that wrong, I'm just bummed I dont get to be as excited about all the good changes so I'm touchy about it guess.

Yeah I don't know if InMusic is a publically traded company or not, but if they are they're not allowed by law to talk about features that are coming in the future. Some companies just adopt this attitude anyway, but not addressing changes in the MPC is just counter productive. If the do implement time signatures back into sequences in the coming months then it creates unnecessary drama that has no positive outcome.

Cool, I'm we're clear & yeah the mysterious red ninja tactics is a pain for future gear planning.

Just found that ‘flatten pad’ isn’t there any more :hmmm:

Not that much of a biggie as time based fx didn’t flatten properly anyway, but I previously used it quite a lot.

I know I'm late ...but I meant the LACK of certain Time Signatures will be the Next Gripe

On a lighter note...I'm seeing Tempo Automation

I see the vision now

Not a DAW in a box, but a sequencer, sampler and multitrack (think the touch based Zoom ones) all in one.

Lot of kinks need to be worked out, but I feel like this is an exciting direction for them to embrace.

I'm really enjoying it. I wish they'd lift the limit of 8 audio tracks though -- surely it can be more with disc streaming. Would be really cool to be able to multitrack a bunch of live instruments or stems and mess with them live.

Yeah that is a welcome change.

I'm hoping most of the missing features are being held back until bugs are resolved in 3.0 the way it is.
I'm a late adopter to MPCs and I've been really enjoying the idea of a machine that you can just write entire songs with on the couch, laying around in bed, on tour or in hotel rooms etc. etc.

I was a super early adopter to using computers for sequencing, but the constant cycle of improvements means instability, and even with a laptop, portability is suspect compared to an MPC live II. Plus I really prefer programming drums on the MPC to anything else, and I tried pretty much everything.

Agreed, I like to double my guitars and pan L/R. A bass track, and 2 different guitar parts eats up 5/8 tracks. I'd like to think if I can't get it done with 8 separate tracks it's on me, but still. Oh, i just realized I could bounce the tracks like on a traditional multitrack, which eases things a little.

I feel like they'll probably raise or remove the cap in the next generation of hardware as a selling point. Maybe a slight chance that they raise the cap on 3.0 stable build but still makes it unlimited on the new models.

Unrelated - I also like the way they improved the midi grid for drum programs, giving each pad a separate color on the side and whatnot. And it could be placebo but I feel like working with midi events on the grid is like 1% better lol, like it wasn't as painful as it usually is.

There's a LOT good here.

yeah, in case it won't happen I have general idea as to where to look for that limit
I know that Amit along with Marcelo did it with Force so it can be patched on MPCs as well.

Here's a fun fact and a food for thought at the same time:
There is a switch case statement which branch out into different types of limited stuff:
audio tracks, plugin tracks, specifific plugins etc...
question is - why would they impose a limit of 2 instances per project for AIR Sprite and AIR Ether if those plugins run solely in controller mode without any CPU restrictions ?

The pad flattening feature still exists as the "↓" icon at the top of the program(track) edit screen.

Awesome, I’m obviously not looking hard enough. Thanks for pointing it out.

Nice find dusty slices.
Ether is so much better than the current reverb plugins. Almost as good as supermassive

In 3.4...Do we have to Record Tracks in sequential order? Meaning...

I'm I'm use to placing my Drums on Tracks 1-3
Samples starting on Track 9 n beyond.

It won't let me Record on a free track of my choice
