Studio One 4 & MPC Live!!!

At this point in time, Studio One and an M-Audio Trigger Finger will blow any of these new mpcs out of the water with ease which is sad and pathetic for true mpc heads to deal with.

Duh their already doing that. Aren't you updating your mpc?

I use my LPD8 to trigger the pads in lmpact XT. Its dope.

Yo you need to watch this video. The new Atom is the answer for Impact XT. I love the MPC live but this is better for S1. Impact

It looks nice just wouls like to see it with 3rd party vst.. like kontakt can it scroll up and down on kontakt
If not then this is just another controller..

Don't know about Kontakt but it works with other DAWs. I say it was mafe perfectly to use with S1 Impact xt and instruments.

Okay but to be truthful it looks cheap quality but I like how they make a controller with builtin template for there software.. Now this would be a good move for MPC series.. if they can get the coding down and create one for Kontakt, Maschine and other software to be able to toggle with the MPC..

What is stopping you from doing so? If the LPD8 can trigger Impact XT, why not the Live?

I'm strongly considering S1 as an alternative to Logic, but I use my Live alot and want to make sure it's compatible. Can the Live not be synced to S1? Any feedback you can share would be appreciated.

What up Bezo. Well I don't have my live connected to S1V4. The LPD8 is simple you just plug and set it up in S1 and go. There's a little more to it with the Live. I never got it and left it alone.
It's probably compatible, I just left it alone.
What I do is do my drums in the Live and bring them into S1 when I am finished. Because of the Export functions on the Live which I love. S1 is dope! I love 4.5.1 that joint is crazy!

You bring your drums into S1 as audio or MIDI? I think you can export either from the MPC.
But yeah, I can't imagine the Live not being able to control Impact XT. Just wanted to make sure you hadn't come across any specific issues as I use the Live to play all drums regardless of sound source.

Yeah, I'm liking what I see from S1. But it does have one issue I'm trying to get away from Logic for. Can't be slaved. I did find some info on syncing the MPC, but S1 has to be the master. Damn! It does seem a bit more straight forward syncing & using an external sequencer though.

I thought I would ask this question because I have not updated my S1 since 3.0. The reason is when I use the MPC Live as a plugin with S1 I can't use the MPC Live inputs for sampling. There is a work around for Ableton and Logic to use the MPC live inputs, but not for S1. If they changed that I'll update, but nothing I found shows they have.

I personally wouldn’t throw in the towel on Akai so fast 2.7 is around the corner. Akai may bring a lot to the table in 2.7. Just my thoughts. Never say never.
