:worthy: and that's why l won't try to be all deep in with this machine. Love the machine and the thought but Akai's pattern tells us more. My 2000XL was the center of my studio because l did the entire track on it. My Live lm not doing entitre tracks just drums and maybe a melody. Rhe center of my stu is my computer and DAWs. I made dam sure lm proficient in them. Especially Reason 10 l can use the Akai LPD8 or my midi keyboard to program drums. This is ine reason lm loking into Behringer's BCR With recall so l can tackle every k ob in reason 10. The MPC live is just a side piece. I can really make music without it.

How can l keep being faithful to Akai when they aren't faithful to us? If Akai make moves towards something else so shall l.

Something tells me we've already seen the biggest stuff.

Me, I'm not even waiting for anything anymore.
You either accept the device as what it is right now or you don't.

Probably some nice small stuff will come but as for automation lanes on standalone etc…
They'd probably be done already if they could do it.
Same goes for plugin delay compensation. That might probably be doable in 3.0 if they *really* built it from the ground-up that time.

Anyways, just a hunch; can't explain it, but this is how I feel.
Live and X are probably close to being as good as they can get.
Would love to be surprised, of course.

This is how I feel as well. In this Numark age, the 1000 and 5000 were both abandoned at 2.0 (2.1) for newer models. In MPC history, only the 3000 got to 3.x.

If their pattern stays, we're not far from Akai moving onto something else, and the Live and X left as they are. I actually expect that scenario more than I expect them to get anywhere near 3.x. These folks have a pattern of abandoning promising platforms for the next thing. So yeah, I agree with the OP too - I hope IF a 2.3 comes, it will be really good, because based on their history, that's likely all we get.

Thought about this a lil more, here's my current theory:

Akai got shafted buying those RAZR boards for the live/X. There is some kinda design fault on those boards that makes it highly unstable/subpar performer when the system is pushed to its limits. This is why Akai has capped the RAM to 2GB instead of 4, and even then Akai couldn't get the full 2GB of sampling RAM thing to work satisfactorily.

The chip makers knew about this fault and discontinued the chipset/thingy quietly.. Just before selling their last stock to Akai. Boom :smoker:

Now this is all just wild speculation and my imagination running wild but.... yeah

Well then expect a lot more budget controllers and maybe some variation like a subv8000 dollar keyboard running vip 3.0

Also expect a MPC Live redux.

I blelieve that akai has placed itself in a price point just above the electron line up.

Let’s see a Mpc 4000. And associated geAr be updated. I will buy an upgraded Mpc 4000 and mfc filter give me what I want asdr per step.

Oh man, its all gone to shit right? Damn... I will be honest, maybe I haven't gotten a bug is because I only sample with it, I don't do MIDI, use it like a DAW nor is it my main piece. There is so much to be done to make it better with what it has now. They can eat their shorts and rearrange certain features into their proper functions. We all wish certain things in Clip mode should be in Drums and vice versa. They should've known the specs and had engineers work with the developers in using the chips Akai bought to use them efficiently and properly so all this shit wouldn't be happening.

Are folks staying away from 2.2.2.1 for some reason? How would I go back to 2.2.1 if I needed?

It’s effed up on some units. Just down load the 2.2.1 installer and it will overwrite your unit.

Lol, no, nothing like that happened, and the chip is not discontinued, and nowhere close to being maxed out with our software.

Im staying away cause it was glitchy plus when they update l always wait abd both need to have the same update numbers.

I don't want 2.2 for the software and the firmware is 2.2.2.1 hell naw! They need to match.

If you wanna go back to 2.2.1 go to the site it should be at "DOWN LOADS" scroll fown until you see it. Always save your versions on a disk.

Here's the link

I just hope there will be Automation edit from the hardware, because its'about the only reason I look at my computerscreen.
I gave up on the rest of my list cause I know I can live without them and feel like they won't happen anytime soon.

Anyway, Thanks for comming here Dan.. It's highly appreciated..!!
