MPC Live + iMPC Pro 2

It’s pretty easy to use an iPad as a sound module or even effects processor.

I take a key step, iPad, live, Alesis iPad interface and a few cords and can really rock out anywhere. I set it up on the table on my back porch and have a brew and smoke and love it. Sometimes I even bust out a Roland md-500 that is battery operated. Don’t need to plug anything into power.


It all works off the power of the live, and I pad battery. To get the most use of an iPad you will need some sort of interface.

I’ve been on a small break from beat making because of stuff going on in my life but korg I wavestation and an MPC Live go along way.

I’d only use the impc to do some editing on projects if I don’t have my live with me.

Beatmaker 3 is powerful but I much prefer the MPC Live workflow.

@Cockdiesel is the interface necessary if I'm using headphones? Anything more than an iPad, I'd just bring my Macbook Pro & run MPC 2.2.

I use a good amount of instrument plugins. I'm looking for a way to substitute for CPU/MPC 2.2 outside of the studio and get access to plugins. Live controlling iMPC Pro 2 sounds like a decent combo on paper, but I'm not seeing anyone use them together. Any experience with this combo?
