There is to much competition out here. Im not buying anyt9on that list and lm definitely not buying a new MPC when l have a new computer more powerful than any MPC Akai will make.
My computer is my MPC. Akai's bug rep has people on shaky ground, they wont give PDC amongst other things. I'll be honest if it wasn't for the Live being portable l wouldn't have bought it. Its the biggest reason its around now.

It will not sell, a new MPC. This new generation is not bowing down to Akai and that rep that Akai had is basically gone, its only for nostalgia moments.

Lets face facts people are taking laptops to the stu and rockin when they travel. Lets face it people aren't even finger drumming anymore, ots a losing art. They are mouse clicking notes in the computer. That's the new way. I won't do that but...

Akai l don't see upping their s software game either, they love Ablive more than their own product lol.
Enough people didn't buy the X/Live as we thought, but l knew that already. That's why l moved on. Everything now is nostalgic to me about the MPC experience

Well I can see there is a return to standalone grooveboxes.
Roland just came out with new MCs, Korg is possibly working on some new Electribe, Elektron still sells good and so on.
Akai could win them all if they take care on current Mpc as standalone.
People buying standalones are an expanding market, as I can see from the trend.
Mpc Live price drops to compete with Mc707, you can see they almost have same price now.
Maybe Force has been more or less a failure, and when it came out I just asked myself, why they hell they don't focus on Mpc? It will take out resources from that.
And I was right.
I just understand that Akai is moving in a mysterious way.

Controlling information with an Mpc wirelessly from White House/Kremlin.

I agree with this. MPC standalone is their ticket IMO. But they keep focusing on other things (at least the updates indicate they are).

Only thing I get about the Force is the form factor - that form factor, in standalone could prove to be a good thing. But combining them, like they seem to be doing, is going to be a bad thing IMO.

Projects like Akai Fire for FL Studio, Splice, Ableton Live Integration pays the bills. Speaking of Akai Fire, someone made a script called crossfire, now it work with Ableton Live. So now people can buy a Akai Fire for $100 and get the script for $26.66 and have an Ableton Controller for under $130 US.

This is what Akai Pro should be doing. Partnering with Dev on each of their machines, 60, 3000, 4000, 2000xl, 2000, 2500, 5000, 1000, 500. Then charge just like JJOS. They're not making money from old hardware, at least make something on software updates.

Well yes, I think Akai was going very good with new Mpc, especially after 2.3 updates. And there is a clip mode in it.
I really could not get the meaning of putting out a new standalone when Force came out.
They overlap in many instances and force Akai team to develop an unfinished and limited device instead of putting all efforts on Mpc in a moment where Roland and other major companies chimed in with very good standalones.
I really don't understand Akai policy.
Mpc could really be the best standalone workstation out there, if they make a better midi implementation and improve the GUI a bit.

i expect the OP-1 to be high up there... because it is a good enough piece to get the talk of the town..... it has the instagram photo hype thing, AND it does interesting stuff..

people buy it to be a part of that hype or to try it out because they like the features. Then the hype people sell them and a few people who really find the features are worth over a grand keep them.

Nothing, some samplers implement certain features better but overall there really isn't anything else out there that comes close to what akai have already put in these machines.

of course, i would like to see certain features added, bugs fixed etc, but people are starting to get a bit unrealistic in the criticism imo, if you need powerful daw features, get a laptop and daw.

This.

I really wish Akai would leave the DAW world alone.

Same here.
