But yeah, I hope they gonna sell a lot of them so Live users will benefit from that, it has exactly same cpu ram software and so on

Naw even with all the downgrades from the live it still runs circles around the digitakt.

Looks like an upgrade to the MPC Studio as it looks to fit the same footprint. I don't really need a bunch of outputs as I mix my stems "in the box" then export. Does it have an HDD slot for internal storage or just the front SD? Lack of battery = not a big deal.

I'll reserve my other comments until I see the price tag.

I am thinking this is more a Mpc touch renew.
It is desktop friendly and can easily fit in a studio with PC and ableton integration.
So it's gonna compete with maschine for example.
Hopefully this means Mpc live and X will have their own upgrade in the future.

I have mixed feelings, more positive than most, but not jumping up and down, sharing candy and stuff in excitement either.

For starters, this is less a stripped down Live and more a stripped down X. As a Live user, that is WAY more buttons and quicker possible workflow, also the CV Gates are more inline with the X, not the Live. Add in a lack of battery, and its a MPC X without a rotating screen, fewer inputs, and a smaller form factor, for almost 1/3 of the price...which is actually GREAT for someone like me who has been thinking of selling his Live to upgrade to an X since I stopped traveling with my MPC. This release ALSO means that improvements are still coming, they aren't necessary for me, but continued support is always a good thing.

On the flip, I'd pay an extra $50-$100 for the screen to be able to tilt up like the X. I also do want hardware improvements for something "new", there is no real reason for an existing Live user to get this, Turning the Live to a "middle" ground feels like a weird choice.

I think I'd be biting a bit harder if there was a "plus" version of this, more than the Live, less than the X, give me OLEDs on the Q-Links, the rotating screen, battery, harddrive, new soundbanks, and a different color scheme.

Not really what I'd want out of the device, but glad to see continued support of the platform they developed with the Live/X.

This was a Power Move. Like i said before, Akai is targeting Several Different Financial Audiences. Now they have to target potential customers who dont have $1000+ for a MPC.

I agree with Unreallystic....This is a Stripped down MPC X. Something for the Studio with a Smaller Footprint. Not so much Portable, but easy to travel with.

I know a lot of People on here will be even more ButtHurt if it doesnt add "Multi-Timbural" on the Input or Disk Streaming from SD Card.

With No Battery, No HDD/SSD, that should bring Production Cost Down...More Money For Akai

Ultimately, this is a release designed to bring in new MPC users, it's definitely not one for MPC Live/X users, but Touch/Studio users will probably be tempted. I think it's a good move from Akai, puts the pricing squarely up against Maschine 3 and the Digikat etc. It's a very feature-rich unit, with MPC Software license, and aggressive pricing. Hopefully thy'll make a tonne of cash and invest it back into checking off all those feature requests.

I like that it's square vs rectangular.
I like the placement of the jog wheel & screen, and that it has more dedicated buttons. Something too about the name.. MPC, followed by a number. It seems truer to the MPC aesthetic.
I just bought my live less than a year ago so I'm kind of glad the "one" doesn't spec better. But I hope the next gen portable mid range (live2) has more in common with the new One.

The name reminds me of M$ XBox series. Fully expecting a MPC 360 or MPC Series X (though I guess we already got that , does that mean the next XBox after the Series X will be the XBox Touch? )

I think this is one of the biggest things, maybe they couldn't swallow bringing the Live down in price, or the cost of "reintroducing" the hardware is worth the publicity to combat those two. This is ESPECIALLY true of the Digitakt (which I'm ironically thinking of selling), though they should have dropped news on the next major update along with this.
