Sync issues between latest iPad Pro and MPCX

SSL 2+ connects to the IPAD via USB. So it can send Midi out or Accept Midi in via the SSL 2+, 5 pin MIDI DIN Ports.

Oooh...that's cool if it does the Midi to USB conversion for you. I opted for the iConnectivity Mio since I already have audio interfaces and it was only $40 or so on Amazon. Good to see an Audio Interface handling the Midi to USB conversion for users...have not seen that before. My FocusRite only offers Midi In/Out over 5 Pin as far as I know...but maybe I should investigate some more.

Honestly, after looking back at the original details of the post, I'd recommend an Anker USB HUB. It sends audio over USB fine to my iPad Pro USB-C Model.

Which Focusrite do you have and Is it class compliant? I think the midi conversation is based off the software/app that the user is working with. As long as the device and software can see the interface, as well as allows the user to select which MIDI devices/ports they want to use, everything should be fine.

I've never used the Anker USB HUB, what kind of audio input/output does it support? 1/4, XLR, RCA.

I have the Focusrite Scarlett 8i20...but I don't think it ever showed Midi Ports on the iPad when I use it as an audio interface. I'll try this weekend though to see if it converts the Midi to USB, now that I have the MPC One to sequence my iPad.

Less cables is always good ya know

The 8i20 needs an Apple USB C to USB adapter. I think you may have to setup the routing, using the computer Focusrite software first. Please fill in your results, would love to hear about it.

Oh I meant that it would allow you to send Audio over USB that is coming from your Audio Interface.

Well it took a playing with it but I found out it doesn’t work. You have to plug it In after you boot up the Mpc. If you start with it plugged in it takes over the sound and no sound will come out of Mpc or the Alesis.

Midi in over usb works, but Keystep works perfect with one usb connection.
The foot switch doesn’t register on the Mpc, the midi in light flickers monetarily but it doesn’t do anything.

Was a cool little experiment but it doesn’t seem to really offer anything of value.

With the Alesis plugged in, along with the foot switch. Go to MIDI LEARN and try to assign it to some function.

So it would have to be a toggle option, no? It only flashes momentarily, I’ll try this but I’m guessing no bueno. Unless there’s toggle options that have midi cc

There are options for it, but you have to see if the MPC see's it while in MIDI LEARN.

All the aforementioned options are great, but I think I’m back to not being able to power the iPad.
I can send midi via the IM.1 connected directly into the back of the MPC, so it’s just audio (and continuous charging) that’s the problem, but maybe the hub listed as a reply at the beginning of this topic may just work.

Could this be viable?
