Well the byte code to load them and interface with them is technically still there... even though you are right, they don't take up RAM if you don't load them. But I think we're sliding off into the pedantic path.

So the 2.8 update drops May 14... anyone think that the MPC Live MK2 will appear this month as well?

Can't we just be happy about the new features introduced in 2.8? I could be wrong, but it sounds like the engineers at Akai Pro are listening, am I crazy for thinking this way??????

Indeed. Been using my Ren for a couple of months and been a nightmare trying to run it as a drum/sample module with my Daw.
Once this lands i won't be restricted to 128 pads and having to mix each pad individually.
Baffled as to why this wasn't in mpc1.0 tbh. Basic midi routing is a staple of any studio.

Thankfully I've not had as long a wait as.some of you.

Puzzling that they never released this to the MPC public beta testing forum, seems pointless to go through all the effort of setting up that entire testing programme only to not use it on the next release. I guess they decided the quality of the bug reporting wasn't good enough.

So i get that u can rout midi out to multiple devices, but can you do the following scenario?

Track 1 set to tube synth
Track 2 set to bassline
Track 3 set to electric.

Use a an external sequencer like a polyend seq or deluge to control all 3 internal synths simultaneously on different midi channels? If yes, than finally, multi midi is here.

That's what I'm hoping. As you can assign input to Multiple tracks to layer I see no reason this isn't possible.

Thats what im wondering. Because all three videos kinda skirts around it. All the devices are running thru a USB Hub. And the MPC is controlling the Midi Devices. I'll just have to wait til the 14th and dive into it to figure it out.

I may be wrong tho!!!

Tube Digga's video covers this and yes it can be controlled by individual or multiple external midi, usb or din.

Not much use for Multi MIDI, but I'm glad it's out of the way. And maybe I can come up with a need to get MIDI from my DAW to my Live, though I typically go the other way.

USB MIDI in/out sounds good too. I updated my MIDI interface a while back related to the the lack of this, so maybe not much need any more.

MIDI between tracks will be useful for layering.

Edit pad map is cool. I had to create templates in Controller Mode. Now I can just make direct selections.

Copy pads between drum groups might be my favorite. I use 4-layer velocity and cycle kits. Creating hybrids from existing kits just got easier.

I don't use Pad Perform often, but I'm hoping this means user arps in standalone are coming.

Qlink overlay will be useful on the Live.

And change track from grid mode will be useful.

I was hoping for some editing updates. It might be a while since a lot of workflow stuff was covered here.

Can’t watch the video yet, stuck at work. Did they add qlink auto Swtich for sample edit mode and main mode?

Also is there global midi learn in standalone now?

Hard disc streaming, some midi effects, fm, and granular. It will be the best sampler ever
