I’ve started the return procedure on eBay, the seller has gone silent on me.

Did you buy at full retail price?

40 quid cheaper, it was ex-showroom b-stock but sold as new. They’re out of stock everywhere in the U.K. currently so options are limited. He will have to give me a refund, eBay guarantees it but it may take a while... so disappointed, Getting one is all I’ve thought about for weeks...

Yeah, that shouldn't happen. It appears that Thomann has it: https://www.thomann.de/gb/akai_mpc_one.htm

It was hard for me to buy anything new. Most stores have this policy.
But I always send it back and don't take the used stuff. It's just wasting my time.

In the US we can't sale previously open items as new. They do sale b-stock items on the site. But I've never bought anything from them. Maybe call them before ordering and make sure it's brand new opened.

Yes, I usually add this in the order description. In Europe, we can return internet orders up to 14 days without giving a reason (except for smartphones and several others). Therefore, many stores are trying to sell returns for the full price.
Of course, sometimes a product is new, just unpacked. But as a buyer, I shouldn't be interested in that.
I've had a lot of weird shopping cases, fortunately I can take advantage of the 2 week return policy. And the wheel turns.

Well, I have’t really got the money until I get a refund which could take a while... I might borrow some though and sell some gear, was really hoping to be getting stuck in this weekend.

I’ve bought b-stock many times before without problems, it’s not something I generally worry about. As long as it has the full warranty. I’ve not bought from Thomann for many years, but may go for it. Postage is a bit slow compared to U.K. shops though.

Returns are marked as B-Stock , aren’t they ?
PS.never had a single issue and their support/service is excellent...

No, it's not. For example, Arturia had used the code on the Analog lab lite. Interface box had the manufacturer's stickers removed. Such things don't happen by accident.
I did 3 purchases there and each had a disadvantage. Never again.

But it doesnt do much but perform diagnostic tests

Thanks for sharing that great bit of information. :worthy: Maybe they can pin it.

So there's

Press and hold: PAD BANK A + PLAY + PLAY/START and POWER ON (Works for ONE, LIVE and possible X)
Press and hold: [BANK C] + [FULL LEVEL] + [ERASE] and POWER ON (Works for LIVE)

I think [BANK C] + [FULL LEVEL] + [ERASE] and POWER ON is used for loading new firmware (on the One) from an attached USB drive.

Can I ask what this does? I just tried and it said 'updating' with a chip icon displayed and then booted as normal., didn't seem to do anything. Is that just to update the firmware manually? I'm asking as I think my One needs resetting (not just the preferences) and Akai aren't the fastest at replying to queries :smoker:

Yes, so what? It helped me yesterday, so maybe it will help someone else in another year?
