MPC XL - CODE NAME ACV5S - A NEW MPC X FOR SOON ?

Since Akai came out with Key61 that has more Ram, it will upgrade all Mpc line with more Ram.
So we will have new Live, One, X with same amount of Key61 Ram.
My only doubt is if the new line will come out with all plugins included or they will still force us to buy them.

I hope they take it back to the 200xl design ethics; and move away from the blocky style of the mpc one and the live.

also defo need more performance elements like touch strip and or data sliders; I would like to see a return to thin pads also, I think the 200xl pads felt more tactile.

and think they need to give us the true hardware modeled circuits; they really need to give us the same input outputs of the mpc3000, and maybe an analog filter

it's funny - back in the early/mid-1980's, a car from the early/mid-1960's was absolutely considered a vintage car. They even looked so dramatically different, it was easy to tell them apart. But by the time the 90's and 2000's came along, things seemed to get blurred. I'd never look at a 2001 Toyota Camry and think it's "vintage".

yeah back then when cars where designed solely by humans and not computers with perfect wind tunnel algorithms cars looked so much more unique. Nowadays most cars look the same really.

I would invest in massive gear like that only if it had a full fledged built-in mixer with at least 8 inputs.

That would then probably replace my sequencer, mixer, sound card and DAW controller, in addition to be an amazing production machine, hence would merit the valuable real-estate it would take on my desktop

Right now I use the MPC Live II Retro and I love it so much.

The only thing that would justify a new XL model for me would be a tiltable screen. Other than that I'm perfectly happy with my One.

I would really love more outputs, at least 2 more like on my mpc25000. It's confusing that main L+R are now output 1 and 2.

i think there is defo a market for an mpc one with a tiltable screen; I thik if they add the tilt up screen , and a , built in battery, maybe a little bit bigger with bigger pads and a more rounded off edges, that would be a winner

A tiltable touch screen is a costly and mechanically challenging endeavor.
And not the most ergonomic solution anyway
(as an iPad user from day one on, I know... )
