The narcissism and audacity of the OP who posted the first post! Who gonna read all that trash?

im seeing more and more jokers on here ranting and raving about what akai is or isnt doing.

are any of you mugs actually using mpc products, or are you here to troll? this forum used to have amazing discussions about mpcs, now it's cats jawing about some mysterious new mpc product, what mpc 3 is or isn't giving us, and, now some snowflake thinks his or her opinion matters so much that he or she/they/them need to write a dissertation on it.

yall doin' too much.

Me too... I just guess it just sounds pretentiously professional to say workflow all the time as if we were working in a music assembly line

MPC:
Just stick with a firmware you do like, I as well dont dig the new update but there were some builds of 2.x that i feel like are decent enough that i can keep it static on that build and still have my studio kickin. I no longer care to keep up i'm lookin for the quickest way to lay down my ideas.

YE:
I hate that everyone looks at YE like he's crazy. Dude isn't crazy, he just has no filter. I think like many of us he spends a lot of time alone, im sure his wealth isolates him from having any real friends. I understand how a mind goes dark because quite honestly I can be that guy too when i'm alone and cornered and all my hard work is on the line. Ye gave an interview where he rants about who in the industry is an industry pawn and who owns them, he doesnt name names but hes flat out telling people the truth that there are super wealthy people who own the studios and promotion companies and news stations and what not that literally create or destroy anyone who cant afford to compete with them. Ye has **** you money but we are all slaves. If any of us want a deal we are getting offered some bullshit 360 deal on a label that runs us like their prison **** and if you dont play ball they use all their other pawns to **** up your reputation and try to wreck you. It's not like it's a secret. It's why to be a real artist you gotta be able to do it for the art and be able to go it alone without the financial input from the masters.

I'm done with my rant lol.....

I'm frustrated with serious midi issues with the 2 pervious updates with MPC One and MPC Key 37. I had no choice but to downgrade back to 2.15.1 to get the MPC One to finally lock in with midi again. As for the MPC Key 37, it complete garbage with midi... doesn't matter what firmware version I use it will not remain locked in. I'm done with it... selling it.

Glad to see different opinions and people will similar opinions/experiences. Yes, I was being super narcissist (aren't we all), but just wanted to make completely unapologetic point.

The new mpcs imo still SUCK!

Last night I was making a track in 3.4.3. Spent an hour working on it, saved it, then worked some more and it crashed. Looked for my project and was no where in sight (and this was 20 minutes after saving). Thats the crap I'm talking about.

Or when I make a drum track (I guess thats what you can call a program now), and it automatically sent a send out to a bassline synth I had so I'm scratching my head wondering why my snare is married to a bassline synth when I press it.

...But HEY! This new 3.4.3 feature that tells you good morning in Japanese when you turn your mpc just released. Or the game changing feature that lets you press + and - to access the arrange window then it keygroups any samples that says "tear riff" just released....

Yes, I can pull out my 2500/1000 and akai doesnt owe me a **** explanation or patronage, but I like to speak up and express my feedback when I feel they got it wrong.

And believe me, I feel like "THEY GOT WRONG". The sound and workflow is its biggest enemy. Hopefully things improve...

And yes, "Workflow, WORKFLOW, workflow, work flow". Thats the key word next to sound/intutiveness.

Ableton, ASR-10, Sp1200, isla 2400, reason, Cubase, S1, FL Studio, Logic, etc., are used by different producers because each program/sample/workstation gravitates to different people.

But in retrospect, Akai really has no competition I guess in the field its going in. Maschine is like a snowman in the dessert. Looks cool, not as practical as a mpc. No id, 9th, and countless other producers still make bangers with it though.

My frustration has gone crazy lol. You can get my polo college dropout themed straight jacket now lol....

The original MPC workflow doesnt have to change to incorporate the new ideas, they can coexist. It can all happen when moving to the next sequence. When you turn to the next sequence you get a pop-up to choose to continue with the MPC 3.x workflow or convert into MPC legacy workflow which will give you a clear independent sequence and all following sequences. This rule will also apply if it follows the 3.x workflow. This way you keep the longtime mpc users while incorporating the new workflow. Also, there can be a setting in preference to lock the MPC in the user's preferred mode, so when you change to the next sequence there's no pop-up requiring a choice. Might be a larger code but I would gladly sacrifice internal storage for this.
