That depends on how much money you got, how much you want the plugin, how much money you made with music & if you think you'll be able to make your money back.

I get what your saying, I was asking more about it in general, as I don't much about "Double Tracking" & just wanted know what so great about that it would be priced at $100.

Isnt double tracking just recording the same track twice and panning? Maybe it’s more of a crosstalk effect since it shows tape reels in the graphics. Which is kinda like double tracking I guess

Your doubt doesn't change anything I said. If someone thinks it's worth the money that's their business. Whether someone want to buy a record because a certain plugin was used had nothing to do with what I said.

Most music listeners that doesn't make music don't care about plugins (some may even think it's a sex toy ), butt the person buying it will have to determine if it could be something they could use creatively & is worth the price. To most users, it's just another overpriced plug to strap on your device & hope for the best outcome.

It’s just a doubler plugin, kind of like Waves ADT. I’d say it’s worth a few dollars, maybe up to $29 at most.

Either way, there’s no need to worry about the listed price of a plugin that’s being given away for free.

OK, thanks for the info. I'm not really worried about the price. I was just curious what's so great about it, that it cost so much?, and yes I know most of the plugins are overpriced, but I'll go & look up Waves ADT.

Hehe, normally priced $149 but only "now" available for $29.99. Waves pricing model at its best.

If you take away all the marketing about Abbey Roads what you get is two modelled tape machines (one being the source). To quote Waves this can lead to an interesting situation:

"But with ADT, sometimes the doubled sound was ahead of the reference track, and sometimes it lagged behind, with constant fluctuation keeping the doubling effect richer and more interesting rhythmically."

Nice for 60/70 retro sounds or really whacky psychedelic walls of sound. Not sure if this technique fits into the lo-fi beat maker aesthetics.

Thanks. That's the info I wanted. I'll more research later tonight. I'm not necessarily a Lofi beat dude, but I'm sure it could be used to get with great results in that genre. It may not work with the Lofi Hip-Hop reddit sub, which downvotes you for posting actual LFHH.

If it can do tape style double-tracking, presumably it could do tape flange as well. If it retails at $99, I would imagine/hope it does multiple things. The u-he Satin plugin https://u-he.com/products/satin/ does multiple tape things.
