New Vintage synths

BTW, can someone please tell me what is innovative in the Fabric engine? Besides the obvious fact that it is cross-platform. Sidenote: I'm not agains such engines. Many vendors have their own. But they have been around for a very long time.

Disappointing but not a problem if you just like the sounds. Assuming of course it loads like Fabric and not like NI Analog Dream MPC edition which takes forever to load the romples when you scroll through presets/favorites. A huge drag when you’re feeling creative and ready to play especially for those of us who bought standalones specifically to avoid the annoyance of computers.

I spend my money on REAL synthesizers. This stuff is junk that will pull you away from having actual dope things. Buy digital if owning nothing tangible is your steeze.

Akai needs to stay in its lane. We bought the sampler to sample and record. wtf.. why would we want this shit? that's not what brought us to the mpc that isnt how we make our music for the most part.

It's like they dont understand us, or if they do they simply dont give a shit lol.

I'll never buy pay wall unlockables tied to some internet account over a real synthesizer. Id rather save up my money and own something really nice.

If that's their path it would make more sense to create a standalone digital keyboard and sell it to us. remove all that shit from mpc and give us another device..

a decade down the road none of you will own any of that stuff and i will still own my keyboards and fx processors and interfaces.

But but but but what about when your support reaches EOL and you cant reinit your plugins? all the money you spent gone with the wind. If you went and bought a deepmind you wouldn't see it vanish before your eyes.

Modular became a studio standard because its you can just rotate out a component when it fails. modular in the sense each device has its own task.

Nintendo is similar, like for instance the zelda breath of the wild expansion was never released on cart. in a decade or two, most of us probably wont even posess it it will be a memory. All that will be left for people using a factory system is the base game. All that will be left of your mpc in a decade or so will be the base system. Will you be ok with a hallowed out memory of a good time you had on that mpc? never to return because you cant? I wouldnt be so i just wont start down that road unless i can permanently unlock it.

I want a studio of permanent fixtures, and if the sampler dies who cares use the pc or go buy a roland sp.

seems like an odd choice given the increased processing power of the new MPC's.

After downloading the trial on a computer, go to the Synths folder and in the 'Content' folder is a .big file. It's binary but if you open it in a text editor there are smatterings of plain text, which includes 'Milan Bank file S000.0 Copyright (c)2003 Wizoo' and 'Classic Synths Setup'.

I believe Wizoo eventually became AIR. I'd be interested to view details of the original 2003 library they used for this, but I can't find anything referencing it, even on Wayback machine.

I quite like the new Plug ins,I own plenty of hardware synths that these plug ins won't realistically replace per se but its nice to have more In the box stuff to reduce the amount of external hardware I need, and its taking me closer to a more minimal hassle free and cable free setup,after several decades of buying more and more hardware stuff in order to create the ultimate setup but never really reaching that destination,with Akai/Air still releasing newer additions without the real estate of hardware is fantastic.

Whilst they may be only Sample based plug ins,I think its a nice addition to the MPC plug in suite and at least they are still giving us new instruments, most manufacturers would have dropped the eco system by now.

And also a great opportunity to use my 30% off voucher

At lease make the filter sound like synths that they're based on, which one the most important parts of those vintage synths. They had us do that survey about what we wanted just to give us what we didn't want.
The Mysterious Red Ninja strikes again!

These vintage plugins were being worked on well before that survey went out, but I will assume that a very large chunk of their future instruments are going to be built around the same formula, it's all too easy for them, and the survey will just tell them which synths/instruments to focus on.

Look, I'm the last person to knock sample based/rompler instruments, but Akai have exclusive access to the plugin ecosystem so rather than pumping out endless romplers using the Fabric engine which seem to be mostly made from very simple keygroup programs built using recycled AIR content, they should be concentrating on bringing out more innovative plugins that achieve things not possible with the standard MPC features.
