inMusic now owns NI?

Free is nice but I can also understand why they would still charge something for the mpc edition, not full price but a cross grade fee to get the Kontakt instrument in mpc plugin format, you’re paying for the added value to your original purchase.

I'm really surprised this has so little interest. I would have thought there would have been hundreds of comments considering the impact this could have.

Hopefully this will be good for everyone, though I suppose Akai users will benefit the most as it will probably mean that the vast range of instruments "could" now be ported over onto the new MPC range as they have more powerful innards. I'm sure the folks at NI & Akai can work it out between them and get it working.
It's a possibility that Maschine could disappear and they could concentarte on software, leaving the MPC to be the sole hardware platform, rather than trying to keep two separate samplers going using double the R&D fighting each other.

I look forward to the future months, years to see how things work out. Buying moog didn't seem to bring much to MPC so maybe this will just remain on a parallel path also!

Because native instruments have had horrible R&D and development Add there support and forum that company didn't listen or care about there customers. They released controllers on day were missing features it promised and the software all were buggy. Now some will say inmusicbrand did the same the main difference were firmware upgrades constantly and they listened to there customers.. lastly there hardware works. Most dont care because NI been a disappointment for years..

This part may have a lot to do with the lack of excitement. inMusic owns Moog but Akai just released a sampled based emulation with Fabric's filters. GTFOH with that low effort BS!
I'm waiting to see what they do with this new bag of goodies & how they're gonna charge now with less competition.

I'm waiting to see what they do with this new bag of goodies & how they're gonna charge now with less competition.

You dont know what's coming and neither do I but they dont buy a company and turn around a release right away it takes time and development..they have a long standing contract with AIR

Everyone just assumes they are going to start creating MPC Massive and MPC Kontakt, maybe they will, but it's a lot easier to just carry on repackaging samples from basic 'Play' Kontakt instruments and old 2003 Wizoo CDROM libraries.

I never said anything that indicated I knew what they're gonna do nor did I except them to release anything right after getting a new company.

I don’t get what AIR has to do with one inMusic company stopping them from working with another inMusic company, especially after they already worked with that company before they bought it & don't they have Spitfire plugins coming out?

InMusic owned Moog for about 3 years & all we got so far is a sampled based emulation with Fabric filters during the gen 2 era. Hopefully they can do better in the future with their other companies.

You will have to pay twice. If you're lucky you get a discount. I guess they will do cross licensing only if sales are low for the ports.

My reasoning is that Analog Dreams was (and still is) free with Komplete Start yet the MPC versions sells for 29 EUR. Akai could have ported any of the paid Play Series instruments. But no. This pisses me more off than bugs.

If they didn't have to develop play series for the mpc line then I see why they would be free.. they have create a new plugin which cost.

I would have loved an MPC version of Reaktor, but that was another NI.

Pro-55, FM7, B4... AIR did similar plugins, but the first generation of NI plugins were lightweight and had an unbeatable sound.

For the last 15 years, all I've seen from them are GB overweighted Kontakt instruments, so, yes, not really excited about these particular news...

There wont be kontakt on MPC but there are slot of partners of NI that potential could help with sound design for the MPC other then AIR which had run it course as far as instruments.. Absynth 6, Massive X and Massive would be nice addition in standalone.. and hopefully there a converter available if needed for old presets..

Agree although im not impressed with the latest wizoo release vintage what ever its called vol 1.. I might have to hold off until something worth loading the XL that release was subpar to say the least

No I understand and get it.. I was saying it takes time and they are operating as sub companies. They can still charge market price because they are operating under tbe umbrella of inmusicbrand. Nothing new.. no different then Verizon owning towers there different tiers with same pricing

Ok, understood. Like you I'm not Vol.1 of their Vintage series & that's part of why I'm just waiting to see happens. Before a vol.2, I rather they update some of the old plugins, even if its just the layout like Odyssey, but whatever. I hope vol.2 are more on the level of Jura & Mini-D.
