It'd be hard to market with a bang and make a video about it because it's such a basic feature these days.
Not saying it's not necessary, as it totally is, but it'd be kind of corny/funny marketing it with new video.

"BOOM! Plugin delay compensation finally works! This is BIG!"

:D

PDC is so necessary for software like this. And I agree - not something to market big time, as you're just reminding everyone how late to the party this feature is.

When they introduced the possibility of using VSTs, surely someone had to test them and say "um, guys, there's no PDC here". But for some reason they still released it without this critical feature when 3rd party plugins are allowed.

Either testing never really tested it, or they knew it and released the feature anyway, knowing it would be unusable.

I'm not trying to be negative either. I use my MPC every day in standalone every day. Just would love to see these basic things added.

No PDC but there is Polyphonic Glide/Portamento now.

If the updated does not have have gross beats, it's a wash. Throw the machine away and wait 4 years. :smoker:

   Man you're crazy LOL I got a program better than gross beat, called HalfTime, I will use it only on certain beats. What Tutor said is a brilliant idea. That would be so so so so dope to have Air stuff in Standalone

We were saying they should add Air Plug In to Standalone on Gear Slutz. They called us crazy.  Around the same time they said you needed a sound card. You told them the MPC LIVE could be your sound card.

The new update is out: No Plugin Delay, Stream from Disk, or No Side Chain. No GROSS BEATS or XBOX ONE CONTROLLER SUPPORT. My life is over back to making music the hard-way. Using a controller, Desktop DAW, and VSTi/VST Effects.

All jokes aside, they put in some work.

I'm happy ya'll getting these new features.. But I'm dissapointed for my personal use.. None of the sh!t that I wanted to see has made it to 2.3

Automation
Sidechain

It's still good tough.. cause cats have also been asking for an Synth, arps and a bass module and Akai deliverd..

So maybe next time..

Perhaps they will have more to announce at NAMM. The auto samplerworks great. Made 3 instruments already. :smoker:

I sort of imagine the synths for the standalone boxes have been planned/desired since before launch. It's quite obvious that they should have it.

Would've liked an FM synth though...

Very cool attitude. Going off on a tangent here... I'm not at all knocking everyone asking for the MPC2 software to become more like a modern DAW, I'm a big fan of the way MPC and other at one point hardware only, small LCD screen sampler workstations lay out tracks, I get it.
I've been using computers and DAWs forever though, and absolutely none of them fix all their problems, get all the features people want, or follow my personal vision of what a sequencer should do. Ableton user since v3, and it still has no SysEx or NRPN support to speak of, no MPE support, polyphonic aftertouch etc. Digital Performer user since v2, no object oriented MIDI, MPE, VCA faders, no VSTi midi input, so a single VSTi instance can require up to three tracks to play, a MIDI track, instrument track and audio track to record onto. Logic is the same, still no way to address a single software instrument by MIDI controller and port, only channel.

A good compromise IMO is a program like Reaper, those nerds implement everything. The compromising part is A- it's a DAW, tracks shifted back and forth to MPC2 etc. and B- You have to set up everything in it yourself to your liking, at first it's about as appealing as Excel. I'm 100% certain my most used method for music making in the future will be to start a song in in either Reaper with MPC in stand alone, VSTi, or in the MPC then porting to Reaper to finish. Depending on how insane I'm getting with plug ins and automation, MPC will probably never get to Reaper, DP, Logic level of complexity in terms of automation and routing. If it does it will probably eat all your CPU before you finish a track.

I'm done with waiting around for a single DAW or Sequencer to answer all my needs, I want a fast composing environment so MPC, Live, Bitwig, hardware etc. and I want all the modern features, so Reaper, Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools etc.

I'm OK with some of the work done on a PC, just because MPC Live is a dedicated sequencer sampler doesn't mean it isn't a computer, any decent sequencer is using computer levels of processing power..

This update is the best, so far! The new AIR effects and plugins shows how far Akai can go with graphics on the X/Live in standalone. Keep the updates coming.

A lot of truth here.
A "perfect" DAW/sampler/groovebox will never exist, so in a way it's best to combine things and accept their shortcomings (I know I've been very critical on the surface, but I can say I get a ton of music done every year).

@Akai_Dan,

Do you know why the automation of all my 2.1 and below projects are not being read in 2.2 and 2.3. Whenever I load them up all is gone..

go into preferences and make sure all the options are checked under sequencer, and also make sure the automation icon is set to READ and not OFF.
