You're confused and you own the live. Imagine a new user trying to decide between the Touch, The REN, LIVE, X, ONE, Studio Black and FORCE. Then a device like ISLA 2400 come along and takes all those sales. Because it's one device with one focus and no distractions.

Yeah as I said many times, Akai is really unpredictable.
Until today I thought their idea was to create different devices running same firmware and I thought also Force would merge with this firmware.
But now I am more confused then ever.
No worry for my Live, I still think it's the best of all the family for size and portability.
If they discontinue it for another Mpc without battery and outputs, well, i come to the conclusion that Akai is totally crazy.

Well, the live is on it's way out the door, now that the MPC One is here. They will sale more MPC ONES and will disassemble the MPC LIVE stock for extra parts on the X, ONE and The Force. The middle child is always forgotten. The live had it runs, but it's dead in the water. There really is no reason to buy it anymore.

Of course there is.
It's not like the date a device is discontinued is the expiration date for its relevance....or try asking all old MPC owners and users.

The reason to buy Live is battery, 6 outputs, hd slot.
One is just a downgrade of it.

The MPC ONE is the expiration date for the MPC LIVE. Also from the retails side of things the MPC LIVE is no longer sexy and sale numbers are stagnated. That's why they released the new kid on the block.

In general people don't care about the 6 outs because most use 2. The HD slot does not matter, because usb on the back and SD card on the front. As long as I can save my data. Remember when smartphones had SD card slots, removable batteries, and headphones jacks. Now they don't and most people don't care.

MPC One is the lower tier and the MPC X is the high tier. The live is no longer in the conversations.

6 outputs make a lot of difference.
And also battery.
I already see a lot of people shocked by the lack of battery on One.
If they discontinue Live for One, that's totally crazy.
By the way, I read that some Air synths will not be available on One.
Is it just a rumor?
If it's so, they discontinue a better device for a worst one?
Or they want to merge Live and Force and just keep X and One for Mpc?
I don't know, I don't get this last marketing move by Akai.
I keep my Live and hope they don't screw it blocking updates or whatever

i know im gonna get some heck for this, but i do like the design of the Mpc one. i just with those qlinks were on the left, mic input, phono input and sata HD slot. but as of now it looks ok.
i have a x, had a live, and i dig them all in their own way. i depends on where ya get inspired as well. for me.... a used mpc one would be ideal.... cause honestly.... ill destroy that thing and not give a *$**

How often do you use your 6 outs vs rendering and transferring it to your daw?

Strongly disagree on that..Live is the best of the family being the only portable one..It’s a joy to use it anytime anywhere!A true inspirational machine! If the new ONE had a battery would agree with you but...Sorry i’ll pass

Everyday man.
And I also miss another stereo one.
If Live didn't have 6 outputs, I didn't buy it.
For me, any sampler should have at least 4 stereo outputs, but with 3 you can also work it out.
