Talking about AI, we need automation to weed out videos about music manufacture that mostly show a person talking rather than the instruments themselves being played !

 Those Music manufactures will fight you with all they got.
I don't mind the talking if its useful info & not somebody stating what we already know over & over & over again.
We know its a amazing & powerful tool for standalone & that we can use it to flip old songs.

With how bad warp is in stand alone I have a hard time believing splitting stems is going to sound good. Is real time time stretching that much more complicated and cpu hungry than stem separation?

Isn't stem separation done offline? And Time Stretching is done in real time? Offline and realtime are completely different beasts. Also, isn't there a better algorithm for Time Stretching in the MPC Software on the computer? Maybe that's Elastique Pro that's on the Force?

Warping is done in real time. Time Stretching is a function in the sample editor and runs offline.

If Elastique Pro was on the MPC, it would say it as they pay to license it. The MPC can't handle it, Akai already stated this when they gave us the two options we have. Lots of folks buying an MPC are buying them so they DON'T have to use a computer.

I believe the Force can use it for offline timestretching, so I guess there's no CPU reason it couldn't come to the MPC for offline processing as well, seeing as they all run the same CPU.

Wow, I thought the Force & MPC-standalone had Elastique Pro.
How much better is the Force Elastique Pro vs the MPC-standalone best version of Time-strech?

It's Elastique across a whole Inmusic Range, they just use Elastique Efficient/Mobile on standalone afaik. "Efficient/Mobile" don't deal with formant manipulation/preserving, hence it's more "lightweight". Once you go "Pro" - there is no need to reinvent a wheel by implementing your own stuff imho

OK, but still, how much better is the Force Elastique Pro vs the MPC-standalone best version of Time-stretch?
Anybody with both ever test it out?

Tested both of them many times and both are similar garbage and not suitable for professional uses. Ableton still only choice. Strange thing, but Traktor Pro 3 have a second place for quality of stretching.

I guess you would have to „play by ear” in order to find out as both versions of the algorithm can be modified by end user, otherwise Ableton stretch would be exact same as any other daw that use it.
Can’t think of any other, more„scientific” method to compare them.

Since you guys are talking software the Elastique Pro algorithm in the MPC software should be more than enough for reasonable warping. (Notice I said reasonable.) It is so much better than the "Pro Ten" algorithm (highest level) that standalone gives you.

What I am not sure about is if you warp in the software, save and then open the project in standalone, which algorithm is used. I know it sure sounds better than "Pro Ten"

The big thing that Ableton has over MPC is: warp markers and working transient detection. With working transient detection, even the "beats" slicing warp method is usable for a lot of material, and it doesn't use any kind of time-stretching at all. Should be ideal for low-power MPCs, no?

But MPC users seem to be happy with manual slicing and ch cho choppy so sound nds.

For my ears, A touch of Reverb can make any TimeStretch Sound Like a Quality Stretch

Ableton also uses zplane elastique pro.
