Dam!

"Akai peeps are pulling out"

summer2k wrote:Akai has been dragging their feet way too long on giving its customers solid info on when the Live or X will actually be available. I'm planning on canceling my pre order for the X this week. Beside, that'll give me an opportunity to check out what the competition will come out with later this year or next.

Ever year around NAMM time I get excited to see if Roland will announce a new portable version of their MV8800. Every year it's a new accordion or re-release of a legacy keyboard but NO MV8800 MK2??!! Roland if your LURKING here on the MPC-forums website looking for inspiration….PLEASE make an updated, portable MV8800 MK2!!!

"a new accordion"

Ps, perhaps we should start a petition on an updated / upgraded MV?

Dam . So basically in the MV8800 you don't ever need a computer. You can do all your joints right there. Dam!

Speaking of HDMI?

Not to make you all go crazy here, but…

Andy Mac keeps referring detailed MPC software questions to the "Cambridge Team". I wonder if this is the same "Cambridge Team" that has developed the 'Engine' software for the Denon DJ MCx8000 controller/media player?

They may also be responsible for developing the new 'Engine Prime' software for the upcoming Denon sc5000 Prime series DJ media players. Akai, Denon, Numark, Alesis & now Rane are all owned by the inMusic Brand company. :? :vomit:

IF the "Cambridge Team" is responsible for 'Engine', 'Engine Prime' AND the MPC 2.0 software than we are all in for a BUMPY ride!!

I'm a current owner of the Denon DJ MCx8000 so I can verify that the 'Engine' software NEEDS lots of improvements!!!

TO ALL AKAI CUSTOMERS AND SUPPORTERS:
Peep this cryptic and telling message from Akai via Andy Wack and his interesting choice of vocals in this MPC X demo video.
Andy lets the vocal tell it:
"...I just don't get it." "Do you enjoy being hurt?" "...don't believe his stories." "...they're all lies." "...you stick around and I just don't know why."

IMHO, people are just being VERY CAUTIOUS this time around. No one wants to buy into a buggy MPC 2.0 software with hardware that uses cheap internal components. Akai needs to get it right!

They have done the D-50, Ensoniq sq-80, Yamaha dx-7

They review old gear. No secret meaning to the mv8800 video.

That is understandable, but none mentioned that in the video or thread, neither is there demand for it like the MV.

Beside that, Korg will release the KORG Gadget OS X soon. It includes the M1 known as Darwin.

Yeah, got the M1 already on my iPad gadget (its pretty much the original with all expansions though, not an updated version).

I'll tell you what though. If you are right, I will buy one of the new MV's. If I am wrong, you have to buy one of the new MV's.

If I am right until 2025 and they finally release one, no "see I told you so's" though.

Roland got some serious challenges to a new MV sampler not even talked about anywhere else though. They got to fire up that time machine, see what the competition looks like in 2027, then get back and design a machine still relevant in 2027 that people are trying to beat.
