I feel you on this which is why I'm cancelling my X pre-order and root for NI, Ableton, or Roland to drop their flagship sampler.

I've recently upgraded to Reason 9 and Bitwig 2 so I'll be enjoying them till then.

Baaammm! Hell to the yeah! When l first got S1 l was skeptical. Not anymore. They have done what Avid should of done.

See you're in the same direction lm goung. You and l gotta chop it up!

So yes l use Reason 9 And S1v3 its a killer combo. S1v3 deals with all my vsts and l play my melodies and chords there bring it into Reason then make drums and go bananas! Dude you have no idea the stuff l got for Reason.
REFILLS LIST FOR REASON
1. Virus Ti Polar ALL THE SOUNDS FROM IT
2. Roland 2080
3. Triton Rack
4. Motif XS & XF
5. Roland 5080
6. Andromeda
7. MoPhat
8. Phantom
9. Phantom X7
10. Philharmonik Miroslav gold bundle.
11. Garritan Personal Orchesta
12. Roland JP8000
Should l keep going? LOL LMAO

S1v3 VSTi LIST 3.3.2
1. Omnisphere 2 (blown the hell out)!
2. Stylus RMX
3. Nexus 2
4. Sylenth 1
5. Eastwest entire COMPOSERS COLLECTION! (With SSL 4000 Oxford England mixer)
6. True Pianos

So lm overly stacked lol soon getting KeyScape.
So l mix in Reason and master in S1v3. That program has is own mastering suite with red book PT doesn't have that.
S1v3 is so easy to use its ridiculous. Its midi handles a little better than Reason though but l love both.

You're doing exactly what l want to do.
I wanna lock up the Live to Reason and S1v3.
Plus get the Fader Port 8. It works flawlessly with S1v3 & Reason 9.

I know you use Reason & Studio One too? I also use the Studio One DAW. I have an MPK249 completely mapped to Studio One- 16 pads and all buttons, knobs, faders, etc. I did this to hold me over until Akai releases the MPC Live. I plan on using the MPC Live standalone and doing all my mixing/mastering in Studio One. This may help until Akai releases both devices.

The reface series has been out over a year. But if you are implying that because gear chat did a talk on the dx and its out in new form, and M1 out in software, then the mv must be coming back because they talked about that too, then you got a further reach than stretch armstrong.

:P

Of course that is not what I'm implying, but they did update the old gear.

Thats what these MPCs are, the last Coke in the desert. But if Pepsi and Snapple start putting vending machines in the desert, you'll say **** that Coke.

No offense but imho that's one of the stupidest trends out there.

If I ever end up buying the Live/X, the price tag will stay on… :smoker:

It is not a price tag. The label says authentic, It's an authenticity label.

Dope! So you got R9? What version did you have before it?

Man…I see tons of them here. I know it's to express authenticity. I'm not stupid.

But let's say you buy a Carhartt jacket. It comes with this cardboard tag hanging off it with Carhartt logo.
Do you feel you have to keep it on to display the jacket not being fake? How about shoes? You keep the tag hanging there?

That "expressing authenticity" is not something I get. Maybe if you lived in Russia where there's tons of fakes floating around you need to express, look, I bought a real one. I mean, who gives a crap?
But I don't get most funny-looking trends either. Like ripped jeans, or skinny jeans with a$$ hanging low. Bieber style. But I guess it's all ok as it's "trendy".

I see lots of remakes of classics in synths these days, but its like the Hollywood remakes of classic films - remade cheap and not nearly as good as the original.

AN1x
DX7
Jupiter 8
Juno 106
JX3P
TR909,TR808, TB303
MS20
Arp Oddysey
Etc etc - lots I didn't list here.

Some remakes are ok, others not so much. All don't match the classics quite right. Korg gets it right better than Yamaha or Roland.

I don't want a version of the MV like that. Has to one up the old one and at least match what the old could do with the same quality, plus more features in a smaller package. No mini package, mini features of part of the old one.

I see the idea for rehashing classic hardware as being a sound idea. Lots of folks would like a classic with all new parts and a new warranty to go with that, but making a smaller cheaper made version might not necessarily be the way to appease the masses. Tough position for companies because bringing affordable gear to people is a great idea, but with affordable to larger audience also comes build quality, lower cost parts, etc.

It's been "trendy" for like 30 years. Key & Peele mocked it lovely, tho.

Ha! That was actually funny as heck.
I used to work in a school many years ago, and I had taken the stickers off my hat, as I always do (can't stand them), and the kids were busting my balls…"Yo teacher, is it a fake, is it a fake?" and I was always like "Geez, it's not a fake…what's the matter with you guys?"

On topic, tho.... I have to laugh when people say "I've had it up to here w/ Akai. They lost my business... I'm not waiting any longer. I'm going to get an XXX instead!"

If you thought XXX was better, y'all would have gotten that from the giddyap. You hold out for an MPC because it's what you want. Who the **** buys their second choice, because their first choice gets delayed, and the manufacturer doesn't tweet hourly updates on the status? Just makes no sense.

Unfortunately, I think I am also going to cancel my pre-order.
This is stinking of Ren launch 2.0. I was so glad I didn't buy the Ren after seeing the shit show that ensued.

The constant delays have made me worried, especially the hardware delay. I don't want to drop $1400 and have subpar hardware.

I think I will just upgrade reason to V9 and be done with the mpc until they are readily available and have proven themselves on the market.

After I bought the MPC Studio and had an absolute nightmare of a time with the MPC software I swore to never buy Akai again, but I broke that promise with this pre-order. Now that I have had time to think I am going to wait and see what the competition drops and just leave it until I am sure the hardware & software is worthy of the $$.

Unfortunately I sold my Maschine for this, ah well typical Akai, zero **** given for their customers...

Hey a word of advice l wouldn't listen to all reviews. Go and put yoyr hands on that ES2 and see if you like it.

Elmar Jestro wrote:Well, I luckily waited for some reviews on the ES2 and didn't buy it. That's how I'll do it for most new gear now. At least at a higher price point.

Well dude in my case l need it. Also l had a 2000XL and like l said if the Luve don't drop as expected lma get the 2000XL or my other option. Its still an Akai product. I really don't need touch screen and filter bullsh*t. Ima hands in dude and can get raw.
People make their choices based on how they see theur musical situations, that's their right if they wanna cancel their pre-orders.
So how is them who cancel their orders affecting YOUR LIFE?

People want answers dude. The Live is USA 1,199 thats a lot of dough to some and to others its not. The X is 2,199 thats definitely a lot of dough. People are worried and have that right cause they are spending a lot of cash. Plus Akai ain't saying nothing. They don't need to announce in the hour. Hell Andy keeps making vuds by the hour lol wtf?

If your wife came home every morning at 4am for a week and told you nothing wouldn't you ask an honest question of where she been? If she gives you no answer what would you do? Hmmmm

Let'em pull out more chance of me to get a Live lol lmao
