This is such a ignorant question, most likely as a result of music genre you're making (BTW, not a dig at your music style, just an observation, like I don't understand the need for "lazy chop" :D ).

In most electronic music you modulate almost everything the synth has to offer - amp & filter envelopes, filter cutoff, resonance & drive; oscillator parameters, wave shapers / folders, insert FX blend & parameters, etc. That's why my blood boils when I see replies "just use the autosampler". How about no? Keygroups cover like 20% of the expression I can get from an actual plugin.

Which plugins are you using and what hardware are you using to control the parameters?

Please explain to me how a question can be ignorant. Then please explain how the particular question I asked was ignorant.

Keygroups cover like 20% of the expression I can get from an actual plugin.

That would depend on the actual plugin wouldn't it?

In the case of a vintage Mellotron or Solina emulations, there aren't very many parameters, even less that you might want to tweak live. I dare say a sample keygroup program would add to the number of modulation possibilities vs. a plugin emulation of those particular instruments.

In most electronic music you modulate almost everything the synth has to offer - amp & filter envelopes, filter cutoff, resonance & drive; oscillator parameters, wave shapers / folders, insert FX blend & parameters, etc. That's why my blood boils when I see replies "just use the autosampler".

I get your point, but it isn't applicable. At no point did I suggest that you use the autosampler as an alternative to Serum.

I'm sure its not easy, but I'm pretty sure thats their job. Seriously, how could they miss the mute bugs in 2.8? :hmmm:

Indeed

There seemed to be a lot of shouting about a lot of stuff. You can still check out those dumpster fire threads on getsatisfaction.com that are archived. Did the midi thing get sorted out btw?

Exactly

i wouldn't put myself in the "we want more instrument plugins" crowd.
Not my words, not my point of view, not what I posted.

They are providing more instrument plug-ins, and this time there are two that I am interested in.

I can't control what they will offer, I was screaming out of my window for bug-fixes, and nada. :[))
I can voice my interest when something interesting is provided.

In other news, Akai's firmware update to the Force is imminent:

https://www.soundonsound.com/news/akai-force-updated

When Simon Sherbourne reviewed the Akai Force back in the June 2019 issue of Sound On Sound, it's fair to say he was smitten. With its combination of audio playback and sampling, plus MIDI and CV sequencing, it was the standalone studio hub that many had been waiting for. One of our only criticisms of it was that it didn't have a full-song 'arrange' mode — but that has now been addressed in a major firmware update.

The new Arranger in version 3.05 lets you set up distinct song sections, by playing clips alongside your linear arrangement to add and remove musical elements on the fly. When you've arranged your masterpiece to your satisfaction, you can then export the results as either a stereo master, incorporating the Force's onboard effects, or as separate multitracks for mixing.

MIDI functionality has also been enhanced, with the ability to address up to 32 MIDI channels simultaneously, via USB. You can even connect class-compliant USB devices, such as MIDI hubs and the like, and send your MIDI data out through those.

Those are the headlines, but firmware v3.05 bring a number of other improvements too. To find out more, and to update your Force to the latest version, follow the link below.

Akai needs to hurry the hell up with the FORCE update.

Exactly

My point was that the multi-midi issue was screamed about for years before it happened. And we got 3 synths, ablation link thing & a splice subscription that no one was asking for, BEFORE we got multi midi... So yeah, it got 'sorted out'... along with the most bugs we've had yet on the 2.x platform.

FIX THE PLATFORM AKAI!!!!!!!!!!!

^thats me shouting

A lot of stuff was screamed about. When the community all started screaming about that issue together (and started making threats  ) it got addressed. Outcry didn't happen all at once. It developed over time... in the same way the firmware fix got developed...

And we got 3 synths, ablation link thing & a splice subscription that no one was asking for, BEFORE we got multi midi... So yeah, it got 'sorted out'

So you're insinuating that those synths, ableton link thing & splice subscription thing weren't already in the pipe? The issue got fixed, but people want to keep complaining so they have complain about the timeliness of the fix or lack thereof.

BTW people are STILL asking for more synths. The assertion that the only feature that anyone wanted or was asking for was multi-midi is disingenuous. Check out the Feature Request thread on this very forum. There's countless unrelated requests.

The community lacks consensus on feature requests for the most part. It takes a real concerted effort for the community to communicate in a way that's effective and clear for the developer to act on.

A year from now when 3.0 drops with disk streaming, people will swear up and down that the only thing that the community has ever asked Akai for is disk streaming and shame on them for not implementing it sooner.

So did someone at SOS post that too early? Looks like its gone and there aint nothing about an update at Akaipro..

I am saying "multi midi" was one of the first (& longest running) complaints I noticed about the live/x. I was disagreeing with your comment about shouting the loudest. It took years for them to 'solve' that problem, its not a quick turn-around whether you shout or not.
And yes, I think those features were in the pipe, meaning it doesnt matter who shouts the loudest, especially not now (or here, where the concensus is that akai doesnt even come here) So we should all stop shouting about unnecessary features and let
AKAI FIX THE PLATFORM!

...and for the record I like the synths

Yes

I was disagreeing with your comment about shouting the loudest.

Why?

It took years for them to 'solve' that problem

Is solve in quotes because the issue still isn't fixed?

its not a quick turn-around whether you shout or not.

Correct.

Shouting can determine whether the issue gets addressed or not addressed. In this instance, it was addressed precisely due to the "shouting". The frequency of the shouting, the amplitude, the timbre.

And yes, I think those features were in the pipe, meaning it doesnt matter who shouts the loudest,

That logic doesn't follow. Software development happens in parallel often by different departments within a company. You don't halt development on an unrelated segment of a project because you have to add a feature elsewhere.

So we should all stop shouting about unnecessary features and let
AKAI FIX THE PLATFORM!

Funny enough, "fix the platform" is pretty ambiguous. That phrase is going to mean different things to different people... hence my original point regarding the lack of clear communication and how it relates to work getting done.

It was indeed the loudest thread on that forum. Just look at the mood in there.

Those 108 participants 226 likes and 426 replies didn't all show up the week of the product's launch though. Again, i'll use the disk streaming conversation as an analog for this.
