So it seems that they are continuing with the akai workflow of stringing different sequences together in song mode. :x

1.9 does not have audio tracks…?

I have this old Sanyo video camera and it had the software internally the unit, so when you hooked it up to a computer, you can edit your videos. Maybe Akai is doing the same, but issues syncing the two may arise.

However, they seem confident in their products and if the holdup is just cosmetic problems, then I say 420 :smoker:

No "audio" tracks but it has direct recording which allows you to sample audio while the mpc is playing a sequence, it's a fancy name for sampling.

I thought akai created 2.0 from the bottom up which was why I assumed it was takinh so long. I figured that they were getting rid of the whole song mode structure for and updated daw timeline.

It'd be suicide for Akai to ditch individual sequences in favour of an DAW-like linear arrange method, if that's what you mean?

Yes, that is what I mean. I don't know why akai feels the need to hold on to that workflow. I'm sure mpc users would adapt like they did to ableton push. I don't know any mpc users who rave about creating a song in song mode like its 1994, that's not what made the mpc great IMO.

some people prefer the old style; also there is no reason why they cannot offer both methods; both the classic worklfow and a new school workflow.

I would love for them to offer the option to use both methods but it seems like it's hard enough for them to finish 2.0 as it is.

Im going to leave that 16 gig drive alone lm not adding nothing to it. I will put in a hard drive with sounds

Also, that dude said that we get 10 gigs of sounds and we can store our own on the remaining 6 gigs of the 16GB flash storage, doesn't he know that the OS takes about 4 gigs of that space? :Sigh:

The MPC software 2.0 seems to be version 1.9x with an improved GUI, and some additional features (audio clip launch, real time time stretch & audio tracks). I don't believe the Akai marketing hype of the MPC software being 'written from the ground up'. It's more likely that Akai is struggling to implement audio tracks and they are having trouble fixing all the bugs.

The MPC 2.0 software SHOULD be ROCK SOLID & STABLE since it is taking Akai over a year and a half to release it!!
