Yes. I would assume the Live lets you select output per midi track so you would set which midi channel and which midi out port on the Live for that track, connect your Minotaur, read your Minotaur instructions to check how to set a midi receive channel that matches the send channel you selected on the Live midi track. Done. Use the pads to play it.

Check out the PDF manual for the last version. It's huge. You create MIDI track on the MPC, route out to your synth. Play the notes on the synth with your pads. Get lost in the details that let you send chords with each pad hit, set the key of the pads to say Ebm, etc., etc. Record the MIDI notes, then on a later playback, in 2.0 you can record the synth's audio back to your song.

It would be nice if Akai gave us a unified statement about the MPC 2.0 software.

Since I have to read between the lines…. The MPC 2.0 software is just 1.9x with a GUI facelift and a couple of new features. OBVIOUSLY, the NEW features were written from the ground up because they are completely new to the MPC software!!

That's what I've been saying from the beginning, all this 'from the ground up' is just marketing guy speak, they see the devs have redesigned the UI so they assume the entire app was also coded and rebuilt from the ground up. Clearly that was never going to happen, it would have been a bug-ridden disaster to begin the entire app all over again.

New 'modules', tweaked existing modules, but same core framework, all with a new graphical look. Should be good!

He doesn't only need to be tuned, he also needs to pitched and stretched a little..
And while your at it start clipping him from the head up (before you launch him).

You can use direct record in the meantime to record that performance in time. While it will record it as a midi note plus wav sample, you can convert to it to an audio track when 2.0 stops being vaporware.

On the "rebuild from the ground up":

I think they just said it because NI was saying the same thing about Maschine 2.0. AKAI just don't want to look like playing catch up with NI softwarewise. Plus it's an extra justification for a paid upgrade.

I see that Hellfire is trying to use 'MPC 2.0' click bait titles for his YouTube videos to sell some sample packs..
In his video's hes using software 2.0 but only shows us what we already know from 1.9.x.

Normally I would link to any type of news I'd find around the net but this time Ima let it pass..

Very disappointed with some beta testers tbh, they are like greasy salesmen advertising for Akai.
