Portable and compact sound modules for MPC Live?

Quick question on this topic, how do you connect your iphone/ipad to the MPC?
And do you tend to use the sampler or record straight into audio tracks?

I connect via ableton link with the apps that support it.... Gadget being one. Gotta say I haven't used my iPad in a while opting instead to use my Tetra and Shruthi. I usually record to the looper.

A Korg monotribe is an underrated portable device. Its the grand-daddy of Volcas. I have seen a monotribe MIDI'd to a keyboard controller for a mod disguised as a Moog. The sounds you come up with are infinite. A digital keyboard will have all those sounds ready at a push of a button, but here its analog, so you gotta journey through its vast palettes to achieve them. And its a trippy journey with the monotribe.
