Yeap, that is a dream of an ideal solution everyone has… unfortunately it companies does not offer an ideal solution for each of rather, rather a solution for common cases that fits most users. That is why I am also looking for alternatives, and I think the best is to have several boxes. Not possible to have a single box that does it all for each of us :)

I would pay money to have more useful features in a more reduced interface with more information on one screen.
I really think that stretching out the 4K screen to fit the current screen dimensions would still be touch friendly while at the same time be more efficient and look less like a tablet.

I like the tablet look, lfo on 4k, I used ALOT, There are SO many things 4k got right that are just MIA.

All, thanks for feedback and info shared.
I watched a few videos comparing the workflow of MPC to Maschine. I love the concept of Live 2, but the workflow makes me think it’s better I stick to Maschine giving it another chance. I know it, I like it and it is closer to Ableton Live which I also use. MPC is very different for me.
However, I may be interested in a Force mini or Live 3 in future. I’ll be watching for workflow changes/updates (if any) and want to utilize what I already own.
Thank you!

If you like maschine workflow then the MPC will never be for you.. alot of features on maschine are nice.. but there controller s pad I can't use nor the software..
Machine + looks promising but really what you want is a Komplete Kontrol + .. and hopefully if they come out with it it will be able to handle Kontakt and more..

I'll stick with the MPC tried maschine for 4 years hated the software and the reviews on the maschine + doesn't give more hope for the future.. my opinion.. how ever I used there expansion since I kept my license and you use maschine software as a instrument only in my daw..

allegedly there is a mpc live mini which will be running a stripped down simplified version of the mpc software; it ws said that that will release by the end of the year

To my knowledge there is zero public evidence relating to an MPC Live Mini. Is this all from that one video where some guy said he'd heard rumours and would reveal more soon (and didn't)?

It's completely ridiculous how people have jumped on this. That guy re-hashed the leaked info about the MPC XL and One+ (i.e. the stuff we already knew about, with FCC filings and firmware code to prove it all) and added that Mini 'rumour' at the end, presenting no evidence whatsoever.

Maybe there is a Mini, but jeez, don't you guys want at least 'some' evidence before even vaguely believing these people?

It's the internet, we believe everything we see at face value.

Did you guys know MPC Tutor is actually an anagram for "corp mutt", and is underground slang for Chinese Beat Farmer? Coincidence, I think not. Tutor doesn't do all this MPC work out of the goodness of his heart, but so that he can put beat stealing trojan software onto your MPC. I would say more, but I am already afraid for my life.

there are lots of videos on the live mini all speculation but it makes sense based on the market analysis and the info that has been put out, there is no smoke without fire.

LOL! There are folks who actually believe that stuff! It's the most insulting thing ever especially if you do it because you simply like seeing the excitement in people.

Of course there is, you posted three videos which were exactly that. Youtube influencers commenting (for clicks and impressions) on another video where the guy just claimed, without any evidence, ever, that an MPC Mini was coming.

Yeah it's an interesting product idea to discuss, I think it sounds cool and all that (although I suspect it would not get much ongoing support if it's coded by a third party). But how about we keep it as a theoretical discussion, because currently that's all it really deserves. How did we get to the point were you claim 'it's said to be allegedly coming before the end of the year'? Who said this? Can you see how easily these 'nothings' spread across social media to eventually become fact. By tomorrow your comment will have morphed to this on Reddit:

'I heard that jpeg over at mpc-forums knows a guy at guitar center who has them on the shelves ready for Xmas'

This whole thing is currently one big troll-fest, that padpusher guy must be laughing his socks off. Biggest mystery is how, after all this exposure, he doesn't have many channel subscribers.

Unless it sounds different, they fix the latency or something like that, then I could care less. Kinda over Mpcs for a bit. Got too busy with work. I was hoping one day they would fix that by now but I'm just gonna leave it be and forget it.

That's what I keep saying about religion, government and the media! :Sigh:

On topic... tbh I was highly disappointed when I got the MPC, awkward to use, couldn't understand it coming from roland and korg gear. But personally, I think MPC's are seriously powerful tools for music production. Even after only a handful of uses have I found that actually, once you know what's what, these things are pretty easy to use.

It's just a shame about the bugs and corporate behaviour wrt updates, consumer needs and such. I've had a few crashes the last time I used it, not really inspiring me to want to use it and has actually put me off wanting to keep it! Though I probably will sell all my other hardware and switch to software. More opportunities, possibilities, cheaper, easier to backup and replace... Only downside I had with software was controllers weren't very good, but after buying the MPK Mini Plus, I've found software to be much easier to use. I need more pads and knobs though and so I'm looking to get Arturia's Beatstep Pro to complete my setup for software.

If an MPC mini does arrive, I will probably sell my live 2 for a more compact MPC. But if a Live 3 arrives, I don't see any reason to upgrade, I don't need a massively powerful MPC with more RAM and better CPU, I won't use the free expansion packs and won't purchase any more plugins. I bought OPx4, but tbh wish I hadn't, though it was very cheap. I just don't like the whole ecosystem of iLok, installing all the software etc.

Why iLok is needed?
