Live 3 Retro dropped

Dont know what you do for work but how's does your company pay your salary ? they must have to generate revenue somehow.. also i read alot stuff about the software and firmware. Im realizing that the worst thing the company have done is be transparent.. back in the 90's you bought gear if it had a bug you call and put a ticket in and they eventually got back to you.. if you needed it fixed you had to ship or drive to the nearest authorized shop.. and it to weeks and months to fix.. also there were no monthly bug fixes.. guess you lived with it there was one or so firmware updates forneaxh MPC over the years .. now some of you guys expect new updates everyweek and they do it for free.

Akai allow us the npublic beta test instead of keeping it 100% behind the scenes.. there stuff needs to get fixed yes but its not stopping you from making beats at all.. to much complaining.. you dont have to buy it.. if you drive a car and say its a 2025 Mercedes its 2026 you buying the latest model.. explain how the programmers l, developers, sound designers and so on get paid every week..

It’s weird how different MCP people are from handgun people. The fanboy Glock forum has an overarching sentiment of “we prefer function over form” and they laugh at people who do custom colors. Similar with Smith and Wesson people, but the Canik guys love to decorate their stuff.

But yeah, they also get mad at change, all of them.

Car forums vary quite a bit, from the BMW fanatics’ rage to the Lexus people who have to dig pretty deep to find something to get mad at.

If there’s one close to this community, maybe it’s camera people. Everyone has an opinion how the device should be organized and set up and which features it should have. No one is happy. Which makes sense I guess as they’re complicated tools for art.

Agree but you pay for it custom cars custom guns and cameras you want different you pay for it.. if there a defect then send it in if there a warranty its covered if not cost on the customer

What does this have to do with anything I said. I make beats still but I don't have to sit here and be fanboy just because you don't see an issue. What's wrong with voicing displeasure over a workflow being taken away buy an update? I'm all for progress and new development, but let that all be an add on or update without taking things away that made a way of working enjoyable. Thanks for your opinion though I guess?

The .vst3 wasn't added to mpc 3 not sure why I would think its being worked on.. you can voice your opinion but just like live 3 retro and mpc 3 software you dont have to get it .. you can stick with mpc 2 unless you own the XL or live 3.. maybe there a problem im not sure .. i will say if you own the live 3 or XL your not worried about the software hosting in a daw because of usb c feature which is fire.. so you can always go back to 2.15 or better yet I can send you firmware 2.0.3 and you never complain again and apreciate progress. You didn't answer how does your employer make money to pay you

To be fair Akai switched their users from standalone to computer controller mode, everyone eventually got used tl it, and now they’re having to embrace standalone because Akai won’t update the software. I don’t fall in this group but I get the frustration.

Clearly Akai wants more market share, probably Edm users mainly, so they made the Force to compete with Ableton. So if they want Edm and techno people, seems like having 3.0 do VST would be a no brainer and other smaller companies do this software just fine it’s not like they have to solve a new problem for the first time.

In Tedty’s latest video showing the Retro Live III, he gave a cryptic blurb that the software is coming along well and all of our software complaints should be over at some point.

Fam no disrespect, but are you slow?

I'm all for updating and pushing new product. This video sums up all I'm trying to say. I'm retired and can afford whatever I want, but I don't want tp feel forced to buy something new to do something I used to be able to do with an older product. Folks who just say well use the older version of the software , giving up on all the cool new stuff that the updated version has to offer, or buy the newer version are missing the point. I could easily be stupid and say eff it, I'll just buy the newer version, but that just allows these companies to continue to get away with what they're already getting away with. When you make a product that is dope and stand on it, you don't have to make newer versions just to hopefully get newer consumers. How long was the MPC 2000XL out before they finally revamped the whole system and still sold a lot?

Making the pads lighter grey would of been a better look; but they should of made the other buttons either grey or cream and the qlinks and data wheel should of been the same colour as the main unit
