Who knows, he might have had a ghost account on this forum and had beef with you. You might have even banned him..??

tbf I think the e a ski guy is being pedantic; yes there is a difference in sound but its not that dramatic and the new MPCs sound good; uncoloured but they still sound good.

I think the sound argument is a deflection the anger is from the fact that nothing was done besides the skin job ram and hdd, if they had added an analog filter that would of stopped the critique.

but people felt it was a lazy money making ploy so people felt disrespected; but i dont get why cos they dont have to buy it.

but all this is great marketing for akai

About Andy Mac, he has been a hell of a promoter.. He did his job very well.. I believe he has helped Akai to sell more units than chipmunk guy (I forgot his name).. I think he also got pushed aside (Guess that’s the way they do things)

On the other hand, No one gives a damn about these so called influencers and the beefs they got going..

I feel bad for the way Akai has treated Roger Linn and hope they can reconcile one day..

Personally I think Akai went the right way by having the new generation MPC’s to sound transparent.. Man how I hated the sound of my MPC2500.

For people like me, we want what goes in to come out.. And only to be altered if we do it ourselves..

I love the fact that my X sounds crystal clear/ transparent..

If it was any different I would’ve got rid of it 5 years ago..

This whole “sound” debate is too funny

I thought we we’re past this already. A dope beat is a dope beat regardless of the converters it went through.

I understand established producers might prefer to use certain gear but to act like it’s limiting people from making dope shit is kinda childish.

The average listener can’t hear the difference and frankly doesn’t care. All they know is if the song connects with them or not. Some of the dopest shit I’ve ever heard was poorly recorded or mixed badly.

The funny part is its a digital box. it doesn't change the sound of the rendering to have different converters... if ppl want to monitor it better or capture with diff tone use a different soundcard. People seem to forget the i/o interfaces are expandable.

96k doesnt matter so much. it gives you dynamic range you cant even use. beyond nyquist in the ultra sonic range. it yeilds some results for lowering aliasing but since our target renders are lower than 24bit 96k its going to happen in the target anyways.

As far as andy mac* (no k) goes. He is the ONLY youtuber surrounding akai products worth listening to as he is their legit rep.

I don't think they really understand how much it cost to develop something as complicated as the mpc.. I bet the x cost tens of millions just to develop, and it was just a big risk really.. why put an extra button on it if it cost an extra million? Would you?

I'm just thinking of Corry Banks's live review of the X, in which he said that the X has nice sounding DACs, and that they sounded transparent and clean.

It was true then, and it's true today. They do sound clean. And it is a good sound. He said that if you want something to colour the sound, you need to bring something else in, and he was right about that as well. A man like him also has the deep chops to get whatever sound he'd like, given the tools.

Of course, the other side of the coin is that if you're doing anything except using the outputs for your performance or as a path to your recording solution, it doesn't matter anyway. Digital delivery? The DACs are irrelevant. External synths controlled by MIDI? The X's DACs are not even in the mix. Copying a render off the SD card? Never touched the DACs.

People getting hung up on this need to take three deep breaths and hug a puppy.

Perhaps he sees you as a direct competitor he sells Sound Packs and Instruction Videos via YT clicks. Hats Hoodies and T-Shirts. :hmmm:

Did you make your account with (((MPCFOURMS.COM))) all over it? Just a guess. :hmmm:

If so it seems a bit petty you don't ban the words MPCGang from your platform. :smh:

Yes the 4K goes to 96KHZ. If you switch to this mode, you lose 2 effect slots and memory.

I want a sampler which imparts a sound. A million software plugins do perfect uncolored sound quality. I'd prefer picking the sampler with the sound I want (2500 is perfect for techno/house, and the SP-16 output filter stage is magic for anything). We spent money for Flavor Pro because the the MPCs are too clean.

I always thought the 1000/2500 sounded clean & transparent. I also remember many people complaining about it back in the day said it sounded too clean compared the older models. To me it always gave me back exactly what I put into it compared to the other samplers I had at that time, which was: the SP-505, ASR-10, and S900. All these, unlike the 2500 had options for different sampling quality to dirty things up.

How would you describe the sound of the 2500 & what did you hate about?

The current MPCs & Force sounds better but not different if that makes sense. :hmmm:

To me the 1000 / 2500 sounded really dull... it just lost some of the sparkle when sampling and it lacked some oomph. My One really doesn't have that issue.
